Discover our forest habitats after dark through virtual reality! Ever wondered what happens in the forest at night? Come and experience virtual forest habitat whilst learning about which nocturnal animals are out and about while we are normally asleep! Focusing on Australian native wildlife, we discuss why animals might be nocturnal, how they survive and how we can protect them and their habitat. Please be aware that if you are very sensitive to motion sickness, this program may not be suitable. Requirements: Arrive 10 minutes before the start of the event to check in at Boondall Wetlands Environment Centre. All children must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult. Bring drinking water and a snack or picnic lunch as there are no food outlets on site. Note: This event is held indoors.

Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at the City Botanic Gardens. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. The walks are taken at a gentle pace for about one hour. Walking tours for individuals or small groups (no more than ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Location: Meet at the City Botanic Gardens Information Kiosk (next to the Queensland University of Technology’s Main Drive pathway).
