About This Event
Discover the hidden secrets of your heritage-listed City Hall building with a guided tour of Brisbane’s iconic Clock Tower.
The Clock Tower Tour is a “must do” while in Brisbane!

Whilst the view has changed significantly over the last 90 years, the time-honoured tradition of “taking a trip up the tower” happily continues at Museum of Brisbane.
The Clock Tower Tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. See if you can catch a glimpse of the bells!

Heroic deeds of World War I
Join us for a free talk on the 64 remarkable Australians who received the prestigious Victoria Cross for their extraordinary acts of bravery during World War I. The Victoria Cross is the highest military honour the Commonwealth awards for acts of valour in the presence of the enemy. Since its institution by Queen Victoria in 1856, 102 Australians have been recognised for their extreme acts of courage—more than half of these during World War I. From the first Australian to be awarded the Victoria Cross in World War I (Albert Jacka VC) to the last (George Ingham VC), this talk will explore the shared traits and experiences of these brave men, as well as what their lives were like after returning home. After the talk, visitors can stay to explore the Memorial Galleries, embarking on an interactive journey from the First World War to today, before taking time to reflect on the remarkable stories of bravery and sacrifice in the tranquil parklands. Anzac Square Memorial Galleries is located at 285 Ann Street, Brisbane. Entry is through the double brass doors located beneath the Shrine of Remembrance.
