Lord Mayor's City Hall Concerts presents A Tribute to the Great Ladies of Jazz. Simone Waddell brings the celebrated songs of jazz’s greatest female vocalists vividly to life in Great Ladies of Jazz. Widely regarded as one of Australia’s leading contemporary jazz artists, Simone is praised for her “world-class voice,” magnetic stage presence, and expressive storytelling. This elegant concert honours legendary voices including Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington, Etta James, Norah Jones, and Diana Krall through a beautifully curated repertoire of timeless classics. From intimate ballads to uplifting swing, Simone delivers an experience audiences describe as spellbinding, sophisticated, emotionally rich, moving, and utterly captivating. Start your Friday with a touch of classical brilliance with this Morning Masterworks concert - two towering masterpieces, each with its own voice. Dvořák once doubted the cello’s power to lead an orchestra - until he composed a concerto that defied all expectations. Lyrical, radiant, and full of emotional depth, it is now widely regarded as the greatest ever piece written for the instrument. Cellist Ivan Karizna brings it to life with passion and precision, under the baton of Chief Conductor Umberto Clerici. Beethoven’s Symphony No.7 follows: a work Wagner once called “the apotheosis of the dance”. With rhythm as its driving force, this iconic symphony moves from the majestic nobility of its first movement to a finale of exhilarating power. Surround yourself with the energy of music. Bands in Parks: Supper Dance and Swing
Bands in Parks performs at Souths Sports Club. Get ready for an evening of irresistible rhythm and vintage style as Sunnybank Brass and vocalist Izabella Cihajic brings the golden era of big band and swing to life. From smooth vocal numbers to full-throttle brass band swing, the music will capture the infectious spirit of the swing era, including the legendary crowd-please Sing, Sing, Sing. Adding to the atmosphere, the talented dancers from Swing Patrol will join the band, filling the floor with dazzling moves and vintage flair. Before the concert begins, audiences are invited to take part in a free swing dance class, making it easy for everyone - beginners and seasoned dancers alike - to step onto the dance floor and join the fun. Whether you come to dance, listen, or simply soak up the vibrant energy, this will be a joyful celebration of swing music, community, and rhythm. Bands in Parks: Rotary Family Fun Day
Bands in Parks performs at George Clayton Park. Join the local bayside community with the Rotary Club of Wynnum Manly and local bands including Bayside Brass and Wynnum High School band in a free day of music and entertainment. There will be free sausages, popcorn, fresh fruit and free activities for all ages that include the ever-popular baby animal farm, face painting, balloon twisting, tug of war, and much more.

Join this year’s The QUBE Effect finalists as part of their annual residency in The Triffid Garden with free live music each Sunday during June. These exciting 12 emerging local acts have been busy developing their skills, working with industry professionals and now you can see them live, onstage ahead of the release of their music videos, public voting for the People’s Choice Award in August and the Awards Night in October. Featuring performances by Faith Kayrooz, Red Hill and SAMARA. Please note: Line up subject to change. Location: The Triffid, 7/9 Stratton Street, Newstead Free entry and furry friends welcome! Brisbane City Hall Organ Recital - Vincent Dubois
Titular organist at Notre-Dame de Paris - Vincent Dubois. Since 2016 and recognized as one of the most brilliant organists on the international scene, Vincent Dubois has enjoyed an intensive concert career since winning, at the age of 22 in 2002, first prizes at the prestigious Royal Bank International Organ Competition in Calgary (Canada) and the Xavier Darasse Competition in Toulouse (France).

Rising Stars
A stage for tomorrow’s most exciting performers. 2024 Lev Vlassenko Winner Reuben Tsang brings elegance and clarity to Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.23, before Jake Lyle (baritone) and Rebecca Goobanko (soprano) take the stage for a selection of operatic favourites from Mozart, Rossini and Lehár. The program also features Alice Chance’s bright and expressive Colourburst, Holly Harrison’s high-energy Fizzin’ Fury, and Dvořák’s spirited Scherzo capriccioso. With conductor Luke Dollman at the podium, this concert is a showcase of Queensland’s emerging talent.
