Kindness Treasure Hunt
Proudly Sponsored by Brisbane City Council.The Kindness Treasure Hunt is a free community event for children aged 5-12 designed to teach the values of kindness, gratitude and community spirit through action.Along the treasure hunt journey, children will meet some of Brisbane's local heroes, including firefighters, police officers, first responders and hospital staff and learn about the important contribution they make to our community every day.Rather than simply talking about kindness, the children will actively practise it by personally handing out approximately 750 appreciation gifts as a heartfelt "thank you" to these local heroes.The Kindness Treasure Hunt encourages children to recognize the people who help keep our community safe, healthy and connected, showing them, that even small acts of appreciation can make a meaningful difference.Small hands. Audrey Gibbs Art Prize
Audrey Gibbs joined the Royal Queensland Art Society in 1983 and was recognised as a Fellow of the society in 2009. This exhibition explores genre artworks, one of Audrey's great pleasures.This exhibition focuses on Genre Artworks, one of Audrey's favourite themes to paint. Genre Artworks are those that depict ordinary people in everyday situations, both in the exterior and the interior. Rather than heroic or mythological subjects, these works celebrate the familiar: everyday people participating in domestic routines, work, leisure, social gatherings, and quiet moments of daily life.The Royal Queensland Art Society is proudly supported by Brisbane City Council.

Follow the mermaid in the bay. Dive into story, culture and hands-on creativity with our latest Artist in Residence, Quandamooka artist Delvene Cockatoo-Collins.Journey alongside Delvene to the shores of Minjerribah and discover the ancestral story of Warrajamba, the mermaid, a living cultural legacy that Delvene continues to explore as she searches for its lost ending.Get hands-on and create your own mermaid or dugong using artist-designed stamps, connecting with the stories of Warrajamba and Yungong, the dugong. Step inside an exciting new residency project that invites you to experience art in unexpected ways.Artist in Residence Renee Kire takes over Museum of Brisbane's entryway, transforming these spaces with a vibrant and dynamic mix of striking vinyl graphics and sculptural timber elements. These features create an immersive pathway that stretches across walls and ceilings, guiding you into the heart of the Museum.Drawing inspiration from Minimalism while reinterpreting the movement through a contemporary feminist lens, Kire brings fresh attention to the often-overlooked contributions of women in the field. Bright, colourful and welcoming for all visitors, the artwork is both joyful and thought-provoking.Responding directly to the architecture of the Museum, City Hall and the Brisbane cityscape, Kire's design reveals unexpected connections between the built environment and abstract form. Lord Mayor's Photographic Awards 2026 exhibition

Clock Tower Tour
Discover the hidden secrets of your heritage-listed City Hall building with a guided tour of Brisbane's iconic Clock Tower.The Clock Tower Tour is a "must do" while in Brisbane!For many years, City Hall's Clock Tower elevated the building to Brisbane's tallest, offering visitors a magnificent 360 degree view of the city around them. Join us for Gruesome graveyards - a torchlit evening tour that explores the strange, unsettling, and sometimes downright bizarre customs and stories surrounding death, burial, and what lies beneath.Set against the atmospheric backdrop of South Brisbane Cemetery, this night-time walk offers a mix of fascinating graveyard lore drawn from historical records and broader burial traditions. While some tales are local, many stretch beyond Queensland, giving you a deeper look at how different times and places have dealt with life's one certainty.You'll encounter:the unsettling truth behind reused coffinsbody decomposition: nature's final and fascinating processBrisbane's brief but deadly brush with the bubonic plaguethe grim reality of grave-robbing in the 19th centurywhen justice once came with a drop and a rope.Guided by passionate storytellers - including award-winning cemetery historian Tracey Olivieri - this tour is a safe and engaging way to experience the cemetery after dark while learning about death through a historical and cultural lens.Bring a torch.
