The Manly Creative Markets operates Every Sunday (except when Christmas Day is on a Sunday!) from 8am until 2pm, as an alternative retail outlet for local and regional creative talent, and is definitely not a flea market. You will find artisan wares, arts & crafts, plants,  great coffee, entertainment, massage, fashion, pet items and so much more at the Manly Creative Markets in Little Bayside Park every Sunday. Free parking in the surrounding streets.

Join Mike Gilmour, Queensland Wattle Association, on a guided walk through Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha to view wattles in blossom. What to do on a Brisbane Winter’s Day in the sun Try a walk amongst wattle blossoms that stun Sparking in the sunlight with their green and gold, For all in Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens to behold. Lambs Tails, Zig Zags, Silver Wattles, Golden Wattles in bloom, And more with buds ready to burst from the Winter gloom. Poem by Mike Gilmour© Come join Mike Gilmour, self-styled Wattle Wag of Queensland in the Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha to view the wattles in blossom on a guided walk. Each walk will include a talk about varieties, the history of the wattle in Australia and Queensland, the importance of wattle as an Australian symbol plus some unusual facts and common myths. Walks will run for approximately 1.5 hours. Requirements: This walk includes moderate physical activity, including walking slightly longer distances, up gentle slopes and stairs or walking on some uneven surfaces. Some standing periods for explanations but no sitting. Please wear a hat, enclosed walking shoes, and be sure to bring a water bottle and sunscreen. Audience: Suitable for all ages, interested adults and families with children. Meeting point: Meet at the Visitor Information Centre. Join other like-minded volunteers to help protect and restore Brisbane’s unique biodiversity through our Habitat Brisbane program. Whatever your skill level and motivation, joining your local Habitat Brisbane group is a great way to connect to nature and be active and healthy, all while meeting new people, developing new skills and making a difference to your local environment. With 160 groups across the city there’s bound to be one near you! Habitat Brisbane volunteers undertake a variety of activities including: managing environmental weeds revegetating with local native plants creating habitat for native wildlife citizen science projects. The Bowman Park Frog Habitat Restoration Group meet the first Sunday of the month 2-3.30pm. Venue: Bowman Park, 247 Simpsons Road, Bardon.

Be immersed in the natural surroundings of the reserve as children build nature confidence through bushwalks, exploration, story-time, art 'n' craft and much more. Bush Kindy sessions can go up to 45 minutes and will go ahead in light rain. Themes vary each week. This activity is for the general public. If you are a daycare or vacation group interested in attending a similar activity please email us.  Requirements: Arrive 10 minutes early to check in. Children must be directly supervised by an adult. Wear a hat, sun-safe clothing, fully enclosed shoes, sunscreen, and bring insect repellent. Suitable old clothes recommended for messy play. Bring water and a snack if required, as there are no food outlets on site. Note: Outdoor events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.

Join Environment Centre staff on an early morning walk and improve your bird identification skills while exploring Raven St Reserve. Environment Centre staff will guide you through their tips and tricks to observing birds while providing fun information on what you might see while out in the suburban bush. Age: 12 years and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This activity is for the general public. Earth Kids Homeschool Program - Wednesday mornings

Children aged 6 to 12 learn from nature, explore permaculture, ecoarts, and bushcraft, and develop social and emotional skills at our 6-session Earth Kids homeschool program, running during the Queensland school term. Earth Kids is about supporting children in learning from and with the natural world in a fun, interactive, and inclusive environment. Parents can choose to drop off their children or stay with the group. Activities The activities differ according to the season and may include: Gardening – planting, harvesting, composting, learning about bush tucker and seasonal changes; exploring what's flowering or fruiting at the farm (and tasting what is fruiting!) Earth connection – expanding the senses, wandering, nature journaling and doing other activities to support understanding of the web of life and the elements that all life is made of. Indigenous understanding – storytelling, and cultural sharing. Bushcraft - building shelters, making string, making campfires. Ecoarts – creativity using natural materials.And more - including cooking from food harvested from the farm, games, and unstructured play. Term 3, 2025 - Dates and times: Wednesday mornings, from 23 July to 3 September 2025 (EKKA break 13 August) From 9.30am to 12.30pm each day (drop off/arrival from 9.15 am and pick up until 12.45 pm).Pricing (GST incl): Early bird fees (until June 30th): $250 (general) | $190 (low-income). Full fees (until July 20th): $300 (general) | $240 (low-income). For every additional child, there is a $30 discount. One-day tickets (available for most sessions): $50 (general) | $45 (part-scholarship price) A limited number of Part-scholarship places at $160 (full-term) and $45 (day tickets) are available for First Nations people, Health Care Card holders, and Parents volunteering during the program.
