Clock Tower Tour

Mt Coot-tha Songwriters Festival
Enjoy a free-entry music concert at Mt Coot-tha Songwriters Festival. The event is set in the cool, lush Brisbane Botanic Gardens at the base of Mt Coot-tha and features hours of non-stop original entertainment from fine Queensland blues, roots, folk, alt. country, and acoustic songwriters. The 2026 lineup features host act 8 Ball Aitken, one-man-band sensation Alex Kosenko, folk powerhouse duo Cosmic Honey, spell binding singer-songwriters JC & The Tree, online viral video guitar whiz Majelen, and songwriting/fingerpicking troubadour Rhyley McGrath. The musicians also get together for the all-star performer set to finish off the show. Bring a picnic or enjoy the food truck offerings. Wear a hat, pack the sunscreen, and chill with the big Brisbane extended music family for a great day of original music in a natural setting. Journey to the Stars was developed by the American Museum of Natural History, New York in collaboration with the California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco; GOTO INC, Tokyo, Japan; Papalote; Museo del Niño, Mexico City, Mexico; and Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Washington, D.C. Journey to the Stars was created by the American Museum of Natural History, with the major support and partnership of NASA, Science Mission Directorate, Heliophysics Division.
Calligraphy meet-up practice session
Connect with fellow calligraphy and hand lettering lovers at this practice meet-up session. Whether you're a beginner or somewhat experienced, a diverse range of calligraphy and hand lettering styles are celebrated here including digital. Remember to bring your very own reference material of various styles you would like to work from and enough supplies for the practice session. This includes felt nib pens, brush pens, pencil, eraser and enough paper/iPad for practicing your letterforms on. This is a relaxing, self-led session to practice and experiment with a range of various hand styles. Please note: No inks/ink wells/ink pots, watercolours, gouache, or paints are allowed in the Library.
