Volunteer Bushcare Working Bee - McDowall Bushcare Group
Join other like-minded volunteers to help protect and restore Brisbane's unique biodiversity through our Habitat Brisbane program.Whatever your skill level and motivation, joining your local Habitat Brisbane group is a great way to connect to nature and be active and healthy, all while meeting new people, developing new skills and making a difference to your local environment. With 160 groups across the city there's bound to be one near you!Habitat Brisbane volunteers undertake a variety of activities including: managing environmental weeds revegetating with local native plants creating habitat for native wildlife citizen science projects.The McDowall Bushcare Group meet every Tuesday from 8.30-11.30am.

Brisbane City Council provides free vaccinations to eligible residents (aged from 6 weeks and above) through our community immunisation clinics. Bush Kindy: Library Stories and Rhymes - Nature Book Week
Come along for a special Bush Kindy celebrating Nature Book Week and make memories with your little ones as they take part in story-time and rhymes in the natural environment. Bush Kindy sessions can go for up to 45 minutes and themes vary each week.Bush Kindy sessions can go for up to 45 minutes and themes vary each week. Bush Kindy is for children aged 3-5 years, alongside their parents and carers. This session is presented in partnership with Brisbane City Council Libraries and First 5 Forever. First 5 Forever is an initiative of the Queensland Government, co-ordinated by the State Library of Queensland and delivered in partnership with local government.This activity is for the general public. If you are a daycare or vacation group interested in attending a similar activity please email Council.Requirements: Arrive minimum 10 minutes early to check in with staff at the centre. All children must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult. Wear a hat, sun-safe clothing, fully enclosed walking shoes (no thongs or open shoes please), sunscreen, and bring insect repellent. Suitable old clothes recommended for messy play. Bring water and a snack if required, as there are no food outlets on site.Note: Outdoor events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.

Be immersed in the natural surroundings of the reserve as children build nature confidence and respect for the environment through bushwalks, exploration, story-time, art 'n' craft and much more.Bush Kindy sessions can go for roughly 45 minutes and will go ahead in light rain. Themes and activities vary each week.This activity is for the general public. If you are a daycare or vacation group interested in attending a similar activity, send an email.Bookings requirements: Maximum 5 tickets as places are limited. A ratio of 1 adult per 4 children is required. All adults and children (including infants) must have a ticket. Please cancel via Eventbrite if you cannot attend.
