Bush Kindy

Bush Kindy

Bush Kindy is for children aged 3 - 5 years, alongside their parents and carers. Be immersed in the natural surroundings of the reserve as children build nature confidence through bushwalks, exploration, story-time, art 'n' craft and much more. Bush Kindy can go for up to 45 minutes and will go ahead in light rain. Themes vary each week. On the day of the event: Please arrive 10 minutes before starting time to check in with staff at the centre. All children must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult. Please wear a hat, fully enclosed shoes, sun-smart clothing, sunscreen, and bring insect repellent. Please bring water and a snack if required as there are no food outlets on site. It is recommended to bring a spare change of clothes as sessions may include messy play. Note: This event will go ahead in light rain. Events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.

For many years, City Hall’s Clock Tower elevated the building to Brisbane’s tallest, offering visitors a magnificent 360 degree view of the city around them. Whilst the view has changed significantly over the last 90 years, the time-honoured tradition of “taking a trip up the tower” happily continues at Museum of Brisbane. The Clock Tower Tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. Join us between 12 noon and 1pm at the main stage of Queen Street Mall, to witness the talent and brilliance of Ben Barker.  This Gathering event is produced by Cre8tiveNations. Gathering showcases Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performances in the Queen Street Mall. Unique to Brisbane, it is the only Indigenous performance in Australia that is featured weekly in the heart of a major capital city.

Twilight walk - Karawatha Rocks Track

Join Brisbane City Council's environment centres staff on a guided twilight walk through Karawatha Forest. Experience the natural wonders of this beautiful bushland reserve and enjoy views of the forest at dusk. The 2.5km Rocks Track has some climbs and steps, moderate fitness required. This activity will continue in light rain. Ensure you arrive at least 15 minutes early as the walk will commence promptly at the advertised starting time. Requirements: For safety reasons, moderate fitness is required. Wear secure, fully enclosed walking shoes. Lightweight long pants and long sleeves recommended. Bring a small hand-held torch (no headlamps), insect repellent, drinking water, snack, and a raincoat if required. Please do not leave early unless it is an emergency. Note: Outdoor activities are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.
