Be drawn into a dialogue with nature through Rachel Apelt’s Understory. Visual artist Rachel Apelt, who lives in the upper catchment of Kedron Brook and Cabbage Tree Creek, shares her deep connection to nature with this exhibition. A ‘walking artist,’ her work presents details and impressions from her daily walks along creeklines and forest reserves. The work celebrates the special role of Macaranga trees in creekline regeneration, highlighting their beauty and ecological importance as well as the sense of community that can flourish in their shade. Understory is open now until 30 May 2025 at the Boondall Wetland Environment Centre. Open hours: Tuesday - Friday 9am - 4pm Saturday - Sunday 9am - 12pm

The Manly Creative Markets operates Every Sunday (except when Christmas Day is on a Sunday!) from 8am until 2pm, as an alternative retail outlet for local and regional creative talent, and is definitely not a flea market. You will find artisan wares, arts & crafts, plants, great coffee, entertainment, massage, fashion, pet items and so much more at the Manly Creative Markets in Little Bayside Park every Sunday. Orangutan in Art exhibition
‘Orangutan in Art’ is a fundraising art exhibition showcasing artists from across Australia. Its purpose is to raise awareness of the challenges faced by orangutans and their habitats, while also generating essential funds for the International Animal Rescue Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in Borneo, as well as for the vets supported by Orangutan Veterinary Aid - OVAID When: 2-6 May 2025 Venue: Richard Randall Art Studio, Botanical Gardens at Mt Coot-tha in Brisbane Open Times: 10am-4pm each day.This exhibition will present a collection of artworks created by Australian artists, each paired with an orangutan currently in the centre's care, showcasing the unique personalities and quirks of these remarkable primates as seen through the artists' perspectives. Perhaps the most prized pieces of work comes from the Orangutans themselves as there will be two pieces of art painted by Maimunah resident artist at Melbourne Zoo. Following the resounding success of our 90th birthday tribute concert to Nana Mouskouri in October 2024 at QPAC, The Girl From Greece Singers Katerini Manolatos and Mel Lathouras, along with their stellar band, are preparing to celebrate Nana’s music once again at Brisbane City Hall. With a career spanning over seven decades and album sales in the hundreds of millions, Nana Mouskouri has a place in the hearts of music lovers worldwide. Just mention her name, and people share their love of the singer and her music. In 'The Girl From Greece: A Tribute to Nana Mouskouri,' our audience will journey through Nana’s greatest hits, from 'Never on a Sunday' to 'White Rose of Athens', while paying homage to the Greek music she passionately sang, such as Enas Mythos and Millise Mou. Embark on an enchanting musical journey as we pay tribute to the extraordinary talent of our beloved star, Nana Mouskouri. Immerse yourself in the melodies and lyrics that have captivated audiences from all over the world. 'The Girl from Greece: A Tribute to Nana Mouskouri' was proudly developed with the support of QPAC. The Matilda Women
Celebrate La Boite’s 100-year history with La Boite Encores, a captivating play-reading series that brings 10 iconic Australian fan favourites from the La Boite archives to life. The Matilda Women Originally performed in 1988, this groundbreaking play celebrates the stories of nine extraordinary Australian women, including Gladys Moncrieff (Australia’s ‘Queen of Song’), Lillian Cooper,(Queensland’s first female doctor), and Emma Miller (Mother of the Labor Party). Recognised with an inaugural Matilda Award for its creation and direction, this vibrant production written and directed by Sue Rider returned to the La Boite stage again in 1989 and 1993. La Boite Encores series is perfect for theatre lovers, reunites original cast members and directors along with emerging Brisbane talent, offering an intimate journey through La Boite’s rich history. For the Love of Tony & Friends
For the Love of Tony & Friends will take the audience on a musical journey celebrating the songs and life of iconic American artist Tony Bennett, along with memorable songs from the greatest crooners of all time. Throughout a remarkable career spanning seven decades, no artist in popular music has recorded for as long and at such a high level of excellence as Tony Bennett. Acclaimed Australian vocalist Chris Lloyds will be accompanied by the Jamie Rigg Band will showcase a repertoire of timeless standards, treating the audience to classic melodies and heartfelt stories. HAITCH unleashes a musical journey in Brisbane with his one-man show! Brisbane’s own multi-talented artist, HAITCH, is set to take the stage with his captivating one-man show. This unique musical experience promises to be an unforgettable event, showcasing HAITCH’s remarkable skills on a diverse array of instruments. His performance will feature an incredible line-up of instruments, including the iconic Australian Didgeridoo, Asian and Native American style wooden flutes, European brass horns, whistles and his unmistakeable vocals. X-Stacy

Drawn to the pulse of the rave scene, Ben watches over his sister Stacy as she drops her first ecstasy pill. But when tragedy strikes, their lives spiral. You will be wiggling, learning and having loads of fun while learning about the environment! Bush Kindy is for children aged 3 – 5 years, alongside their parents and carers. Bush Kindy can go for up to 45 minutes and will go ahead in light rain. Themes vary each week. Requirements: Please arrive 10 minutes early to check in and secure your booking. Children must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult. Wear a hat, sun-safe clothing, fully enclosed walking shoes, sunscreen and insect repellent. Bring drinking water and a snack if required as there are no food outlets on site. Suitable old play clothes recommended as sessions may include messy play.Note: Events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.
