Botanic By Night: NightGlow
Botanic By Night: NightGlow makes its Brisbane debut at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha from 25 September to 10 October, transforming the Gardens into a magical after-dark outdoor art experience. Visitors will journey along an enchanting 800-metre route featuring 11 larger-than-life illuminated animal sculptures inspired by Queensland's native wildlife.Designed by Ample Projects in collaboration with First Nations artists Casey Coolwell-Fisher and Nathan Peckham, Botanic By Night: NightGlow combines art, storytelling and sound to celebrate the animals, habitats and stories that shape Queensland's natural environment.From kangaroos and koalas to platypus, dingoes and green tree frogs, each artwork offers a unique encounter, inviting visitors to wander, explore and connect with nature in a whole new way.Perfect for families, friends and date nights, Botanic By Night: NightGlow also features a dedicated food truck precinct.

Celebrating Country and Culture through the bold designs of Magpie Goose.Museum of Brisbane is excited to collaborate with Magpie Goose, a proudly Aboriginal owned and led fashion and social enterprise, to celebrate extraordinary First Nations cultural stories and designs.This exclusive to Brisbane exhibition, developed in close collaboration with Magpie Goose owners Amanda Hayman (Wakka Wakka and Kalkadoon) and Troy Casey (Kamilaroi), offers a deep dive into the work of some of the region's most talented First Nations artists and designers.Using clothing as a canvas for storytelling, this exciting collaboration will connect audiences with the rich and diverse cultural expressions of First Nations communities in Queensland and beyond. Pop into Anzac Square Memorial Galleries during the spring school holidays to create your own poppy suncatcher.Let's get crafty! Suitable for all ages, this free family-friendly craft activity is available between 10 am - 4pm daily from 20 September to 4 October (closed Saturdays). Bookings are not required, simply visit the craft table in our Post World War II Gallery.Facilitated by our knowledgeable team, this activity will explore the special connection between poppies and Australia's military past. A resilient flower, the red poppy was amongst the first to return to bloom in the fields of France and Belgium after World War I, emerging as a symbol of remembrance for the Allied soldiers who fell in battle.Once you've created your poppy suncatcher, stay to explore the Memorial Galleries, embarking on an interactive journey from World War I to today, before taking time to reflect on the remarkable stories of bravery and sacrifice in the tranquil parklands.

Friends of Bur'uda Hanlon Park working bee
Join us for regular bushcare at Bur'uda Hanlon Park! We will be weeding around native plants, watering any recent plantings and removing rubbish. Planting season will be March to May. Meet us at the big lawn near Junction St; look around until you find us.Our working bees are first Sunday of the month except January.Please wear long pants, a hat, strong shoes and bring a water bottle.Proudly supported by Brisbane City Council.
Guided ride - Mitchie Meander

Audrey Gibbs Art Prize
Audrey Gibbs joined the Royal Queensland Art Society in 1983 and was recognised as a Fellow of the society in 2009. This exhibition explores genre artworks, one of Audrey's great pleasures.This exhibition focuses on Genre Artworks, one of Audrey's favourite themes to paint. Genre Artworks are those that depict ordinary people in everyday situations, both in the exterior and the interior. Dive into story, culture and hands-on creativity with our latest Artist in Residence, Quandamooka artist Delvene Cockatoo-Collins.Journey alongside Delvene to the shores of Minjerribah and discover the ancestral story of Warrajamba, the mermaid, a living cultural legacy that Delvene continues to explore as she searches for its lost ending.Get hands-on and create your own mermaid or dugong using artist-designed stamps, connecting with the stories of Warrajamba and Yungong, the dugong. Step inside an exciting new residency project that invites you to experience art in unexpected ways.Artist in Residence Renee Kire takes over Museum of Brisbane's entryway, transforming these spaces with a vibrant and dynamic mix of striking vinyl graphics and sculptural timber elements. These features create an immersive pathway that stretches across walls and ceilings, guiding you into the heart of the Museum.Drawing inspiration from Minimalism while reinterpreting the movement through a contemporary feminist lens, Kire brings fresh attention to the often-overlooked contributions of women in the field. Bright, colourful and welcoming for all visitors, the artwork is both joyful and thought-provoking.Responding directly to the architecture of the Museum, City Hall and the Brisbane cityscape, Kire's design reveals unexpected connections between the built environment and abstract form. Discover the hidden secrets of your heritage-listed City Hall building with a guided tour of Brisbane's iconic Clock Tower.The Clock Tower Tour is a "must do" while in Brisbane!For many years, City Hall's Clock Tower elevated the building to Brisbane's tallest, offering visitors a magnificent 360 degree view of the city around them. Whilst the view has changed significantly over the last 90 years, the time-honoured tradition of "taking a trip up the tower" happily continues at Museum of Brisbane.The Clock Tower Tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane's oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia's largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane's Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors.Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size.Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre.Walk duration: Walks last about one hour and are taken at a gentle pace.Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.
