Lord Mayor's City Hall Concerts - The Spirit of the Isles: Queensland Conservatorium Brass Band conducted by Howard Taylor
Lord Mayor's City Hall Concerts presents a special concert in collaboration with Bands in Parks - The Spirit of the Isles: Queensland Conservatorium Brass Band conducted by Howard Taylor. Under the accomplished baton of conductor Howard Taylor, the Queensland Conservatorium of Music's brass band return for another blockbuster concert!Always a highlight of the year, the band is accompanied by some very special guests, presenting a program full of Celtic fire and British majesty.The ASDAH Seventh Day Adventist High brass band will perform in King George Square 11.15-11.30am. They will also join the Queensland Conservatorium of Music's brass band on stage as the choir for the concert.This Lord Mayor's City Hall Concert is produced by Anje West in collaboration with Helen Johns Brisbane Metropolitan Bands (Bands in Parks).
Gathering: Edgar Conlon
Gathering presents Edgar Conlon. Edgar Conlon is a descendant of the Yiman, Kullali and Wakka Wakka people. He is a proud husband of 11 years and father to 6 beautiful children. Coming from a musically inclined family, he is a self-taught singer and guitarist who has found a deep love for music as an outlet and through his work as a Cultural Coordinator his passion now is to help Jarjums build healthy relationships, reconnect with their mob as well as try to help them find themselves and who they want to be. Edgar best describes his music style as unstructured country/blues/folk. Join us for live music by Edgar Conlon on Wednesday 29 July from 12 noon to 1pm at the mainstage of Queen Street Mall. The group is hosted by Grace, a local Paddington volunteer who loves sharing her passion for music and singing. Brisbane Winter Sessions Festival 2026
Brisbane Winter Sessions is a two-week live music trail across 12 venues and over 35 artists, blending free and ticketed shows from 2-16 August 2026. Led by conductor Tianyi Lu, this concert opens with two commanding fanfares: Copland's iconic tribute to the common man, and Joan Tower's powerful counterpoint for the uncommon woman.Chausson's Poème follows unfolding in a single arc of introspective beauty, showcasing the expressive talent of Associate Concertmaster Glenn Christensen.From there, we enter the rich world of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. You'll hear selections from all four acts from the sweeping dances and tender scenes to the dramatic character pieces.A journey through proclamation, introspection, and storytelling, woven into one unforgettable program.Queensland Symphony Orchestra is proudly supported by Brisbane City Council.

Lord Mayor's City Hall Concerts presents Dance & RomanceEnjoy the spectacular display of Dance and Organ combined to produce a magical performance delighting in choreography displaying beauty and romance.Benjamin Sheen, Director of Music at Jesus College, Cambridge, is an established concert artist on both sides of the Atlantic. Hailed as a "brilliant organist" by the New York Times, he is the 2013 winner of the Pierre S. du Pont First Prize in the inaugural Longwood Gardens Organ Competition, and that same year received Second Prize and the Jon Laukvik prize at the St. Alban's International Organ Competition.Benjamin holds degrees from the University of Oxford and the Juilliard School, is a prize-winning Fellow of the Royal College of Organists, and the 2011 recipient of the Worshipful Company of Musicians' Silver Medal. Before moving to Cambridge, he spent three years as Sub-Organist at Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford and served as organ tutor at the University of Oxford.As a concert organist, Benjamin has performed throughout Europe, the USA, Canada, Singapore, and South Africa. He has also made concerto appearances with the Auckland Philharmonic and Orchestra of St. Luke's in New York City. Before returning to the UK in 2020, he spent eight years at the famed Saint Thomas Church, Fifth Avenue in New York City as Associate Organist and as Acting Director of Music after the death of John Scott in 2015. Visible Ink Takeover the QSM Stage featuring BADPOSTURE.Comprised of two best mates from high school, BADPOSTURE is the name chosen to represent this playful, honest and rebellious duo. Nyan Tun & Doff have created their own lane. Their debut mixtape titled "The First Tape" was released on April Fools( as a somewhat humorous move). The tape is a brilliant & interesting introduction to this dynamic duo!Come and check them out on the Queen Street Mall Main Stage.Performance times are 12-12.30pm and 1-1.30pm.

Sue Ray, winner of the 2022 Blues'n'Roots QMusic award, is a First Nations artist who captivates audiences with her original brand of country/blues and roots music, smoky rich voice, and high energy performances. Often compared to artists like Bonnie Raitt, Chris Stapleton and Lucinda Williams, Sue's sound crosses genres allowing her to appeal to a wide audience demographic. Join us between 12 noon and 1pm on Wednesday 5 August for free lunch time entertainment by Sue Ray, one of Brisbane's finest and friendliest Country artists. Miss Mandy and her band bring to life Judy Garland, Liza Minelli, Doris Day and Bette Midler to name a few. Gracing the stage in recent major musical productions with RMT -including Jesus Christ Superstar and The Sound of Music, with QMT in Mary Poppins and My Fair Lady and in various cabarets and variety shows, they bring both experience and passion.Beyond theatre, the Serenading Sopranos have delighted audiences at community carols, concerts at Brisbane City Hall, functions at Government House and as working solo performers at various events across Brisbane and the surrounding regions. Their diverse ever-expanding repertoire spans from jazz, opera, classical, musical theatre, right to pop and folk, showcasing their versatility and rich vocal blend.
