Beginners are welcome.Walking in a group is a safe and supportive way to explore bushland, especially for those who may be unfamiliar with the area or prefer not to walk alone. Along the way, you might pick up interesting facts about local flora, fauna, and history, while enjoying the many benefits of walking, from improved health, community connection, and time in nature.Discover what makes this precious area special and learn more about our magnificent forest and its plants and animals as we explore. Don't miss this fun family-friendly opportunity for a guided bushwalk with a difference.Moderate fitness required, this track has some uneven terrain, uphill sections and steps.This activity is for the general public. If you are a daycare or vacation group interested in attending a similar activity, send an email.Age: Strictly for ages10 years and over. All children must be supervised by an adult booked into the event.Requirements on the dayArrive 15 minutes early to check in with staff. Walks start at the advertised time.1:4 adult to child ratio required.Moderate fitness required, this track has some climbs and steps.Wear secure, fully enclosed, comfortable walking shoes.Bring water, sunscreen and insect repellent.Lightweight long pants and long sleeves recommended.Raincoat and hat if required.Please do not leave early. If you need to leave the walk early due to an emergency, please inform our guides.Meeting point: Karawatha Forest Discovery Centre. He has a vision of wandering through suburban streets lined with native plants, spotting native bees and many other insects and watching little birds and lizards dart around. Adrian would be so happy to breathe in the lovely scent of flowers every season, on every walk, on every street in every suburb of Brisbane.If you also want more nature around you, come and find out how we can all get it. And discover some amazing benefits and beautiful facts on the journey. This very short workshop is for late teens, oldies and anyone in between. Proceeds from this workshop will go to Northey Street's First Nations Collaboration fund.Youth offer This workshop is available to teenagers (12 to 18 years) accompanied by mum, dad or an adult guardian who have also paid to attend the workshop.About the facilitator Adrian Holbeck is a retired psychologist, permaculturist, citizen scientist, parent and grandparent. During the last 20 years he has studied and taught permaculture, horticulture, soil and plant science and climate action. A continuous and relentless learner (especially about the natural world), he is active in community groups and has learned to manage his own anxieties about the future: often through simple community actions.
