Volunteer Bushcare Working Bee - Caeser's Place Bushcare Group
Join other like-minded volunteers to help protect and restore Brisbane’s unique biodiversity through our Habitat Brisbane program. Whatever your skill level and motivation, joining your local Habitat Brisbane group is a great way to connect to nature and be active and healthy, all while meeting new people, developing new skills and making a difference to your local environment. With 160 groups across the city there’s bound to be one near you! Habitat Brisbane volunteers undertake a variety of activities including: managing environmental weeds revegetating with local native plants creating habitat for native wildlife citizen science projects.The Caeser's Place Bushcare Group meets monthly on the fourth Sunday of the month at 8.30am.

Understory by Rachel Apelt
Be drawn into a dialogue with nature through Rachel Apelt’s Understory. Visual artist Rachel Apelt, who lives in the upper catchment of Kedron Brook and Cabbage Tree Creek, shares her deep connection to nature with this exhibition. A ‘walking artist,’ her work presents details and impressions from her daily walks along creek lines and forest reserves. The work celebrates the special role of Macaranga trees in creek line regeneration, highlighting their beauty and ecological importance as well as the sense of community that can flourish in their shade. Understory is open now until 22 June 2025 at the Boondall Wetland Environment Centre. Open hours: Tuesday - Friday 9am - 4pm Saturday - Sunday 9am - 12pm

135th Members Annual Art Exhibition
This June, the 135th RQAS Brisbane Branch Members Annual exhibition will be on show at Petrie Terrace Gallery! For this exhibition, members were invited to submit works in their own unique style and media across seven different sections. This year the exhibition will be split into two exhibitions that will run for three weeks each. From Thursday, 5th of June until Sunday, 22nd of June, section 1 (Oil and Acrylic paintings) and section 4 (sculpture) will be on display at Petrie Terrace Gallery. Then, from Thursday, 26th of June until Sunday, 13th of July, all other sections (2: Watercolour, 3: Photography/Digital art, 5: Drawing, 6: 2D Artworks, and 7: Pastels) will be exhibited. We will also be hosting two awards night: - Paintings and Sculpture - Awards Night: Thursday, 5th of June at 7pm - A Mix of Media - Awards Night: Friday, 27th of June at 7pm We look forward to seeing you in the gallery! The Royal Queensland Art Society is proudly supported by Brisbane City Council.
Bands in Parks - Community Train Day
The Musical Chairs Band will entertain the crowds at the monthly Community Train Day at McPherson Park, Bracken Ridge. Enjoy the market stalls, grab a bite to eat from the sausage sizzle and treat the kids kids to a ride on a real steam train organised by the Bracken Ridge Central Lions Club, all while enjoying the unique sounds from the Musical Chairs Band.
Yoga and Meditation
This International Day of Yoga, journey towards the wellbeing of Body and Mind by participating in a free yoga or meditation session conducted by ISHA foundation. Free and open to all. Clock Tower Tour

Bands in Parks - Having a Whale of a Time
The South of the River Community Band will be performing a fun and eclectic mix of fan favourites at the Wynnum Whale Park. Featuring tunes from the Barbie movie and some Taylor Swift hits, mixed with classic rock anthems by INXS and Queen. You'll also enjoy nostalgic melodies from Astro Boy and Sesame Street plus rousing marches and Broadway favourites. Come and enjoy the music - it's a concert for everyone!

Come and explore the magnificent City Botanic Gardens and find out about what makes the City Botanic Gardens so unique within the Australian landscape. Sunday guided walks are led by City Botanic Gardens Volunteer Guides. Requirements: Please wear a hat, enclosed walking shoes, and be sure to bring a water bottle and sunscreen. Passport to the Universe
Get your passport for a thrilling journey through the Solar System, beneath the rings of Saturn, into the heart of the Orion Nebula, out of the Milky Way Galaxy and to the edge of the observable universe, returning home via a black hole. Narrated by Tom Hanks. Session concludes with a virtual tour of the Brisbane night sky. Passport to the Universe was developed by the American Museum of Natural History, New York in collaboration with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Blushing
Zen Zen Zo's Blushing is a bold new physical theatre work investigating touch in all its shapes and forms. Enter the microscopic world of the Cells writhing beneath your skin, dissecting the intricacies of physical intimacy across our lives. At a time when distance is the norm, and touch a radical act in a post-pandemic world, Blushing examines our internal dance between shame and curiosity. From a cast of 8 incredible Brisbane performers, witness your bodies’ evolving relationship to touch as we grow and navigate the complexities of physical contact. Blushing runs from the 19 - 29 June ay the Holy Trinity Church, Fortitude Valley.
DragSpeare: Drag Kings Do Shakespeare
Five drag kings on their Queensland tour take on Shakespeare with stupidity, spoof, and sincerity, smashing iconic songs against the Bard in a bold new high-energy cabaret. Brisbane City Council provides free vaccinations to eligible residents (aged from 6 weeks and above) through our community immunisation clinics. Immunisation helps protect people against diseases such as influenza, measles, whooping cough, polio and tetanus.
