Dive into story, culture and hands-on creativity with our latest Artist in Residence, Quandamooka artist Delvene Cockatoo-Collins.Journey alongside Delvene to the shores of Minjerribah and discover the ancestral story of Warrajamba, the mermaid, a living cultural legacy that Delvene continues to explore as she searches for its lost ending.Get hands-on and create your own mermaid or dugong using artist-designed stamps, connecting with the stories of Warrajamba and Yungong, the dugong. These features create an immersive pathway that stretches across walls and ceilings, guiding you into the heart of the Museum.Drawing inspiration from Minimalism while reinterpreting the movement through a contemporary feminist lens, Kire brings fresh attention to the often-overlooked contributions of women in the field. Bright, colourful and welcoming for all visitors, the artwork is both joyful and thought-provoking.Responding directly to the architecture of the Museum, City Hall and the Brisbane cityscape, Kire's design reveals unexpected connections between the built environment and abstract form.
