Wheely Fun
Riding's more fun on two wheels - in just one session our friendly trainer will help your young one make the transition from training wheels or balance bike to pedalling on two wheels, and provide some tips for how you can keep encouraging them. Presented as part of Council's Cycling Brisbane program.

Freestyle scooter clinic
Learn new skills on your scooter that will help you ride skate parks safetly and have more fun! This is a Chillout event suitable for young people 4-17 years.

Hungry caterpillars
Bookings essential. Enjoy a story, then get active with sack races and a wiggly caterpillar race. This innovative, energetic workshop promises heaps of fun while promoting a healthy message. This is a GOLD'n'Kids event suitable for seniors and young people 4 years and over.

Martial Arts
Bookings essential. A fun filled session where you get to do basic techniques of martial arts; starting with punching, defending, kicking moves, moving into break and escape techniques. This is a Chillout activity suitable for young people 5-17 years.

Lasertag
Bookings essential. Enjoy three fun and active games of indoor laser tag. This is a Chillout event suitable for young people 6-17 years.

Tennis clinic for 8-12 years

Polish your peepers! You never know what you might spot. There is plenty for little eyes to spy with this free MoB Kids activity sheet. Transform your Museum visit into an exciting game of Eye Spy and discover details you might otherwise have missed. Can you spot the flowers? This playful Museum experience will immerse you in all manners of local art, history and culture, encompassing five different exhibitions. Ask our friendly staff at MoB reception when you arrive. Micro Museum
What will you collect? Welcome to Micro Museum – a space for telling stories through objects. You are invited to explore the fascinating world of collecting, and uncover the memories that objects hold. Inspired by major exhibition Precious in this space you are the curator. You can select, sort and arrange a wide array of items, many of which are second-hand or vintage. Each object holds memories, and now you can create your own.

Botanical treasure hunt
Crack the clues to discover the natural treasures hidden within the Botanic Gardens at Mt Coot-tha. Work alone or in a group and explore the Botanic Gardens to solve this exciting treasure hunt. We have an activity suitable for ages 12 and under, with 2 age appropriate treasure hunt activities to choose from. Please bring a pencil or pen and wear a hat and enclosed shoes. Playtopia

Little Explorers: Batty bush walk
Join a fun guided walk to visit some of our resident bats and learn some amazing facts about these winged wildlife heroes. These quiet (and not-so-quiet) achievers are crucial to the health of forests, making all bats ecological powerhouses! There will be giveaway take-home crafts for children and some tips on easy ways we all can help bats with their struggle to survive. Suitable for families, groups welcome. Less than 1 km on easy walking paths. After the activity, visit the environment centre and explore the beautiful bushland reserve. Requirements: Please arrive 10 minutes early to check in with staff at the centre. All participants must wear a hat, fully enclosed shoes, sun-smart clothing, sunscreen, and bring insect repellent. Bring water and a snack if required as there are no food outlets on site.Note: Outdoor events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.

Junior Explorers: Nature journaling
Children will enjoy a fun and fascinating workshop learning the basics of nature journaling. Nature journaling is the creative practice of recording your interactions with nature on paper. You can use sketches, paintings, poetry, species lists, numbers, graphs, cartoons and more. This fun, easy, relaxing practice encourages mindfulness, hones observation skills, and cultivates a sense of curiosity and wonder! Please bring your own basic sketch/art book. Other materials provided. After the workshop, visit the environment centre or remain in the reserve to continue nature journaling. Requirements: Please bring your own sketch/art book or pad. Arrive 10 minutes early to check in with staff at the environment centre. All children must be accompanied throughout by a supervising adult booked into the event. Wear a hat, sun-safe clothing, sunscreen, fully enclosed shoes, and bring insect repellent. Please bring an outdoor chair if you would like to use one. Bring water and a snack if required as there are no food outlets on site.Note: This activity will go ahead in light rain and can be delivered indoors if required. Events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.
