Cosmic Collisions was developed by the American Museum of Natural History, New York in collaboration with the Denver Museum of Nature & Science; GOTO INC, Tokyo, Japan; and the Shanghai Science & Technology Museum. Golden Sunbird take their multi sensory live planetarium show across Australia, presenting a unique performance that fuses original space-inspired rock music with immersive astronomical environments. This Lutruwita/Tasmanian psych rock outfit have repeatedly sold out Tasmanian Planetariums over the past 4 years. Immersing audiences with hypnotic guitar solo’s, interstellar space rock jams, wailing theremins and synth soaked walls of sound, intertwined with sci-fi narratives, space-age poetry and cosmic visuals. Taking inspiration from Pink Floyd, Hawkwind, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and Tangerine Dream, Golden Sunbird creates soundscapes that explore the parallels between the unknowns of space and the depths of the human subconscious. The Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium’s Cosmic Skydome features a 18m dome and reclining seats - the perfect location for a celestial journey.
