Brisbane Emergency Services Expo
Bring the family to the Brisbane Emergency Services Expo for a free day of fun, learning and hands-on experiences. Meet your emergency services heroes, explore emergency vehicles up close and learn simple steps you can take to prepare your home and family for severe weather.Local experts will be on hand to share practical advice, and you can view equipment, products and services to help you get ready at home, all in the one place.There will be plenty for kids and families to enjoy, including Paw Patrol shows and Meet and Greets, face painting, a jumping castle, food trucks, a sausage sizzle and more.What to bring:hat and sunscreenreusable water bottle.About the expoNow in its fifth year, the Brisbane Emergency Services Expo is a free, family-friendly event that brings emergency services, government agencies and community organisations together in one place.The Expo is a practical and fun way to get ready for storm season. Visitors can speak with local experts, view emergency service vehicles and find products and services that may help them prepare their home and property. There will be interactive displays, hands-on activities, demonstrations and entertainment for all ages.You can also learn how to create an emergency plan, prepare an emergency kit and take simple steps to help protect your household during severe weather and disasters.Venue: 7th Brigade Park (Playground 1), Delaware Street, Chermside. View map.What's on at the expo?A stage program will be available one week prior to the event. On the day, program signs will be displayed throughout the venue. Check back regularly for updates, as session times may change.Where can I park?Limited parking is available beside the dog park off Reinhold Crescent, Chermside (view map) and may fill up quickly. Once parked, follow the Downfall Creek Bikeway along Newman Road to the event.Limited street parking is available in nearby streets.Is there accessible parking?There are 4 accessible parking spaces available on Delaware Street. See the traffic controllers to gain access.Is there public transport available?Public transport options are available. To plan your journey, visit the Translink website.Will there be food and drinks available?Food trucks will be available offering a range of cuisines, as well as ice cream, snow cones, sausage sizzle and more.Will there be water available?Yes, hydration stations will be available for free water refills. Bring a reusable water bottle.Can I bring my own food and drinks?Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks. Note this is an alcohol-free event.Seating and shade areas will be provided, and you are welcome to bring picnic blankets if you would like to relax under the shade of trees.Are dogs allowed?Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome. If your pet is uncomfortable with crowds, noise, children or other animals, reconsider bringing them.Bring water and clean up after your pet.What if I need First Aid?First Aid officers will be located next to the Information Tent.What should I do if my child becomes separated from me?Notify event staff or visit the Information Tent immediately.What should I bring?We recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen (sunscreen is also available at the Information Tent) and a reusable water bottle.How can I learn more about preparing for severe weather?Brisbane City Council provides information and resources to help residents prepare their homes and families for severe weather. Audrey Gibbs joined the Royal Queensland Art Society in 1983 and was recognised as a Fellow of the society in 2009. This exhibition explores genre artworks, one of Audrey's great pleasures.This exhibition focuses on Genre Artworks, one of Audrey's favourite themes to paint. Genre Artworks are those that depict ordinary people in everyday situations, both in the exterior and the interior. Rather than heroic or mythological subjects, these works celebrate the familiar: everyday people participating in domestic routines, work, leisure, social gatherings, and quiet moments of daily life.The Royal Queensland Art Society is proudly supported by Brisbane City Council.

Step inside an exciting new residency project that invites you to experience art in unexpected ways.Artist in Residence Renee Kire takes over Museum of Brisbane's entryway, transforming these spaces with a vibrant and dynamic mix of striking vinyl graphics and sculptural timber elements. These features create an immersive pathway that stretches across walls and ceilings, guiding you into the heart of the Museum.Drawing inspiration from Minimalism while reinterpreting the movement through a contemporary feminist lens, Kire brings fresh attention to the often-overlooked contributions of women in the field. Bright, colourful and welcoming for all visitors, the artwork is both joyful and thought-provoking.Responding directly to the architecture of the Museum, City Hall and the Brisbane cityscape, Kire's design reveals unexpected connections between the built environment and abstract form. Seniors art exhibition
Celebrate the creativity and artistic achievements of Brisbane's senior artists at the annual Seniors Art Exhibition.From 12 to 16 October 2026, visitors can explore a diverse collection of artworks created by participants of the City Hall Fifty Plus Centre Art Classes, including works from accomplished artists including Terry Hadnutt, whose portrait of Slim Dusty was awarded Grand Champion in the 2026 Ekka Painting and Drawing Section, and acclaimed artist Archana Bose, whose artwork is featured in the accompanying image.The exhibition will be displayed in The People's Gallery, City Hall's ground floor corridor gallery spaces, and will be open to the public daily from 8am to 5pm. Artwork on display will also be available for purchase (cash sales only).Presented as part of Queensland Seniors Month, the exhibition showcases the talent, creativity and lifelong learning of older Queenslanders.
