Gathering: Wawumun featuring Bulkaway Muruku
Gathering presents Wawumun (featuring Bulkaway Muruku).Wawumun (Felicity) is a young woman with an old soul, her songs express her love for country, people and culture. A multi instrumentalist with an angelic voice, her stage presence built on humility, grace and Blak strength that transcends language barriers. Wawumun creates deeply emotive songs that can transport you to another time and space. Joining her is the team from Bulkaway Muruku (Yarn Together), a grounded showcase of story, song and interactive experiences centred on the Kuku Yalanji story, Kuyu Kuyu Wanjabu. The artists will share music from their show in anticipation of their upcoming performances at the Brisbane Powerhouse on Sunday 5 July, as part of the Brisbane City Council's NAIDOC Celebrations program. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors.
