Join our wildlife expert as they introduce you to amphibians, reptiles, mammals and birds. Learn more about these unique Australian animals and how you can help your wildlife neighbours. Requirements: Arrive 10 minutes early to check in. All children must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult. Wear a hat, sun-smart clothing, sunscreen, and bring insect repellent as some shows may take place outside. Bring water and a snack if required as there are no food outlets on site.Note: Events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.

Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Magic Globe: A Story of the Seasons is an animated adventure that is perfect for engaging children from 5 to 12 years old. On vacation at her grandpa’s, a little girl named Mia accidentally discovers a mysterious piece of astronomical machinery. Edmund, Mia’s eccentric uncle, tricks the girl into using the tool’s secret powers to change the world’s seasons. She realizes the consequences of what they are going to do, but Edmund doesn’t want to let the plan go... Session concludes with a virtual tour of the Brisbane night sky.
Passport to the Universe
Get your passport for a thrilling journey through the Solar System, beneath the rings of Saturn, into the heart of the Orion Nebula, out of the Milky Way Galaxy and to the edge of the observable universe, returning home via a black hole. Narrated by Tom Hanks. Session concludes with a virtual tour of the Brisbane night sky. Passport to the Universe was developed by the American Museum of Natural History, New York in collaboration with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Major support for new version provided by the California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco.
