Adelaide Street tunnel open day
To celebrate the opening of Brisbane Metro’s Adelaide Street tunnel, Brisbane City Council is inviting the community to a tunnel open day on Wednesday 24 September from 10.30am to 2pm. Be one of the first to walk through the newly constructed Adelaide Street tunnel while enjoying live music from a local Brisbane talent string ensemble. After exploring the tunnel, stroll to nearby Reddacliff place with the vibrant Wednesday markets offering an exceptional array of stalls. This unique event will be an exclusive opportunity to experience the tunnel, before it opens for bus and metro services. Registrations are essential, and numbers are limited per session. Register for one of the available 20-minute sessions between 10.30am and 2pm. Note: The tunnel has a steep 10% gradient and all visitors must exercise caution when entering and exiting the tunnel. When registering, please review the safety and accessibility considerations. If you have accessibility requirements, including the use of a wheelchair or pram, contact the team via metro@brisbane.qld.gov.au Meeting point: Reddacliff Place. All attendees to sign-in at the event stall.

Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre. Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.

Craig & Karl: Double Vision is a dynamic, playful exploration of one of Queensland's most internationally successful creative exports. Employing Craig & Karl’s signature visual language, defined by bold colour, graphic precision, and infectious joy, the exhibition explores the artists’ three-decade-long creative partnership, their influence on global public art and design trends, and the enduring impact of Griffith University’s Queensland College of Art & Design, where the artists first met almost 30 years ago. Gathering presents Jamiesha Jamiesha is a dynamic and powerful band that draws inspiration from their Indigenous roots in the Barkindji nation and Western Samoa and their music is a celebration of culture, pride, and protest. Based in Meanjin/Brisbane, their original music is a unique fusion of pop, rock, hip hop, and soul reflecting the diverse and colourful nature of their heritage. Join us on Wednesday 24 September from 12 noon to 1pm to see Jamiesha jam out on the Queen Street Mall stage. This Gathering event is produced by Cre8tiveNations. Gathering showcases Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performances in the Queen Street Mall. Unique to Brisbane, it is the only Indigenous performance in Australia that is featured weekly in the heart of a major capital city.
Community Immunisation Clinic - Toowong
Brisbane City Council provides free vaccinations to eligible residents (aged from 6 weeks and above) through our community immunisation clinics. Immunisation helps protect people against diseases such as influenza, measles, whooping cough, polio and tetanus.
