For many years, City Hall’s Clock Tower elevated the building to Brisbane’s tallest, offering visitors a magnificent 360 degree view of the city around them. Join us for our first Heritage Talk of 2026 where we will hear from a panel of experts and passionate friends of Queensland’s many storied and historical cemeteries. Cemeteries exist not only for the dead but also as a space for the living. Across Queensland, they are now valued not only as a resting and remembering place, but also as places of historical significance and civic engagement that continue to connect communities in meaningful ways. This event runs in conjunction with Dearly Departed: death in life, State Library's exhibition that encourages reflection on mortality through history, art and personal stories. Audiences are welcome to visit the exhibition before or after the event to engage more deeply with its themes and artworks. At Gumtree Kids, little hands are encouraged to explore, create and play freely through thoughtfully designed sensory stations and open-ended play. Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre. Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.

Lord Mayor’s City Hall Concerts presents Last Night of the Proms. Back by popular demand, the Queensland Conservatorium Wind Orchestra returns to Brisbane City Hall in 2026 to present a concert based on Royal Albert Hall’s spectacular annual Last Night of the Proms event. Following up on their entertaining performance to an appreciative capacity audience in 2025, the Wind Orchestra will join with over 1000 revellers to recreate this exuberant annual British concert tradition. Wave your flags to Elgar’s famous Pomp and Circumstance, sing along with patriotic favourites and be treated to performances of musical theatre masterworks, rock anthems and light classics from Vaughan Williams to Robbie Williams.
