Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at the City Botanic Gardens. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. The walks are taken at a gentle pace for about one hour. Walking tours for individuals or small groups (no more than ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Location: Meet at the City Botanic Gardens Information Kiosk (next to the Queensland University of Technology’s Main Drive pathway). Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.

Lord Mayor's City Hall Concerts - Australian Army Band: A Tribute to The Great Big Band Era
Lord Mayor's City Hall Concerts presents Australian Army Band: A Tribute to The Great Big Band Era. Join the Australian Army Band Brisbane as they present a concert at the Lord Mayor’s City Hall Concert. This special performance pays homage to the golden age of swing, celebrating the unforgettable music of Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald. The full 22‑piece ensemble, supported by a selection of outstanding vocalists, will bring classic big band hits to life - delivering iconic swing standards with the richness of a traditional big‑band sound. Since its formation in 1949, the Australian Army Band Brisbane has provided ceremonial and musical support to the Australian Army and greater Australian Defence Force throughout South East Queensland as well as overseas; with some members having been deployed operationally. You can see the band regularly supporting commemorative activities such as Anzac Day and performing at community events, major concerts and charity fundraisers. The Australian Army Band Brisbane features a traditional big band line-up of saxophones, trumpets, trombones and rhythm section, complemented by a range of vocalists. You can expect to hear music from the traditional sounds of the big band era through to versions of contemporary rock and pop hits. This Lord Mayor's City Hall Concert is produced by Anje West.
