Kindness Treasure Hunt
Proudly Sponsored by Brisbane City Council.The Kindness Treasure Hunt is a free community event for children aged 5-12 designed to teach the values of kindness, gratitude and community spirit through action.Along the treasure hunt journey, children will meet some of Brisbane's local heroes, including firefighters, police officers, first responders and hospital staff and learn about the important contribution they make to our community every day.Rather than simply talking about kindness, the children will actively practise it by personally handing out approximately 750 appreciation gifts as a heartfelt "thank you" to these local heroes.The Kindness Treasure Hunt encourages children to recognize the people who help keep our community safe, healthy and connected, showing them, that even small acts of appreciation can make a meaningful difference.Small hands. This art form is unique to Australia and utilises the paper bark shreds of melaleuca trees. Different trees produce different colours and are used to produce landscapes, seascapes, or anything your imagination can come up with. No paints or artificial colours are used.

50 Plus: Spanish for absolute beginners
Ever wanted to learn Spanish! This Spanish class is aimed at absolute beginners. If you have never attempted to learn Spanish before but have always wondered if you could, this may be the class for you.The class will be structured and will start at the very beginning with particular focus on learning basic vocabulary, grammar, sentence construction and common verbs used in everyday conversations.Classes will be conducted in English and at a slow pace.The class will be divided into two separate sessions: Session 1: Basic Spanish for Travellers starting at 12.15 pm - 1.00 pm. This class will focus on basic everyday conversation and useful phrases needed for travel to a Spanish speaking country. Session 2: Spanish Grammar and Vocabulary 1pm - 2pm. This class will focus on grammar and sentence construction used in everyday Spanish conversation and phrases.*Please note that the cost for both sessions will be discounted to $18.00

Working across painting, drawing, sculpture and mixed media, Sunday transforms everyday materials into playful works that celebrate self-expression.As Museum of Brisbane's Artist in Residence, Sunday is creating an immersive new installation that will transform the Museum's entryway into a scribble sanctuary, exploring drawing as an instinctive, genderless act and a powerful way of making sense of the world.During Melt Festival, join Sunday's drop-in workshops where you can draw alongside the artist and contribute to the Scribble Sanctuary before it opens in early 2027.Presented by Museum of Brisbane in association with Melt Festival. You are invited to a unique community event created by older people in Brisbane to celebrate Seniors Month. Seniors Speak has brought people together to share experiences, connect with others, and explore what matters in their community. Join us for a community celebration and interactive performance where these stories are brought to life.What is forum theatre? Forum theatre is an interactive way of sharing real-life situations.
