Talk to a Planner sessions help residents, business owners, community groups and industry professionals understand Brisbane City Plan 2014 (City Plan) and how it relates to their building and construction plans.Talk to a Planner is available all year round, with additional sessions held regularly across the city for your convenience.During these free sessions you can speak face-to-face with a planning specialist, giving you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about how City Plan relates to your property.Council also has a team of dedicated officers who can answer simple questions about your development application over the phone during business hours (9am-4pm, Monday-Friday). As well as creating and taking home an original handmade treasure, participating in a Sculptures & Sips is a chance to get to know other like-minded makers and work with Dead Puppet Society artisans in the Fabrication Workshop where we dream up, design and make the puppets and props you see in our productions.Check out our current offerings! The Kinetic Whale, Mechanical Reef, Flapping Butterfly and Flying Bird.Dead Puppet Society is proudly supported by Brisbane City Council. Wetlands weaving workshop (15+ years)
Join a cosy morning of weaving at this small group experience for ages 15+ years with contemporary fibre artist Monique Ross. Take some time out for yourself, relax, and connect creatively with nature while learning weaving skills using raffia palm fibre. Suitable for beginners, all materials supplied. This workshop will take place indoors.About the artist: Monique teaches from a contemporary craft perspective aligned with nature connection and mindfulness. Monique is not an Indigenous artist and does not teach or represent Indigenous cultural practices.This activity is for the general public.
