Bands in Parks performs at Queensland Maritime Museum Park. Kick back and watch the sunset over the Brisbane River from this beautiful vantage point near the Goodwill Bridge. Before the city warms up to Friday evening, take some time to enjoy big band jazz after work at the Maritime Museum with the Jindalee Jazz Orchestra. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Please note: Entry is alongside the Maritime Museum Ferry terminal, via Dock Street. The main Museum entry is closed on Friday Nights. There is no BYO food or drinks at this venue.

Children’s storytime in the park - Dorrington Park, Ashgrove
Experience the magic of storytime with your child during a First 5 Forever storytime session in the park at the Pop-up Library. This interactive session includes stories and songs for young children. Ideal for children from birth to five years and their parents or carers. First 5 Forever is an initiative of the Queensland Government, coordinated by State Library of Queensland and delivered in partnership with local government. Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre. Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.
