About This Event
Come and join us for a unique event for children aged 8 years and over! Have a yarn and learn traditional First Nations customs and painting techniques with Our Yarn (Ngalin Ayeye) at Urban Utilities Visual Art Water Stories Experience.
This is an interactive and engaging painting workshop for children, led by Our Yarn, that raises awareness about the urban water cycle and its deep connection to First Nations culture, histories and stories.
Requirements: Please arrive 10 minutes early to check in at the centre. All children must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult. Wear a hat, sun-smart clothing, fully enclosed walking shoes, sunscreen, and bring insect repellent. Bring water and a snack if required as there are no food outlets on site.Note: This activity can be delivered indoors if required. Events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.

Ideal for children from birth to five years and their parents or carers. Quiet hours at Karawatha Forest Discovery Centre are an opportunity to explore the Centre at your own pace. During quiet hours, we dim the lights, lower the sounds and pause some activities. This creates a soothing space for you to explore at your own pace. This designated time is intended for those who prefer or may benefit from a quieter and more relaxed surrounding. This may include those with autism, sensory sensitivities, disabilities, dementia, mental health conditions, chronic illnesses or anyone who prefers less sensory stimulation.
