Join us in an introductory lesson in using the citizen science app, iNaturalist. Connect with nature while you contribute to scientific research and boost your animal and plant identification skills. Complete fun challenges and become a naturalist in the making, all in the beautiful setting of a nature reserve.This activity is for the general public. If you are a vacation group interested in attending a similar activity, send an email.Requirements:Please bring a device for your child/children to use.Please download the app 'iNaturalist' & make an account before the session.Arrive minimum 10 minutes early to check in with staff at the centre.All children must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult.Wear a hat, sun-safe clothing, fully enclosed walking shoes (no thongs or open shoes please), sunscreen, and bring insect repellent.Water and a snack if required, as there are no food outlets on site.Note: All outdoor events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.

Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane's Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors.Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size.Walk timesDaily departures at 11am and 1pm, Monday to Saturday.Walks last about one hour and are taken at a gentle pace.Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre.Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.
