About This Event
Meet some of the Environment Centre’s resident insects and other mini-beasts at a fun bug show, then test out your detective skills on a short walk investigating bugs and their habitats. What will we find living nearby? Join this one-of-a-kind school holiday activity to discover fascinating facts about bugs and other mini-beasts and find out why these amazing animals are nature’s superheroes! This activity is for the general public. If you are a daycare or vacation group interested in attending a similar activity, email DCBC@brisbane.qld.gov.au Requirements: Arrive 10 minutes early to check in with staff at the centre. All participants must wear a hat, fully enclosed shoes, sun-smart clothing, sunscreen, and bring insect repellent. Bring water and a snack if required as there are no food outlets on site. Note: Outdoor events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.

Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre. Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.

Community Immunisation Clinic - Sunnybank Hills
Brisbane City Council provides free vaccinations to eligible residents (aged from 6 weeks and above) through our community immunisation clinics. Immunisation helps protect people against diseases such as influenza, measles, whooping cough, polio and tetanus.
