This course is suitable for young riders who can ride confidently on two wheels. Through riding-based games and fun activities your child will learn the skills needed to have fun off-road and on the bikeways.Presented as part of Council's Cycling Brisbane program.

Wild edibles walk
Join a guided walk to discover some of the useful native plants along the Tulla-yugaipa dhagun track at Boondall Wetlands.Go wild and discover edible Australian native plants at Boondall Wetlands reserve. Join environment centre staff on a short guided tour along the Tulla-yugaipa dhagun track (place of useful plants) showcasing some of the wild edible plants used by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and colonial peoples, as well as some other surprising uses. Please note collecting plants is not permitted in this protected conservation reserve.After the walk, join a short tasting session where you can try some foods prepared using native plants and find out more about some of the 'bush food' native plants suitable for backyards and balconies in Brisbane.Requirements: Please arrive 10 minutes early to check in with staff at the environment centre. Wear sun-safe clothing, fully enclosed shoes, sunscreen, and insect repellent. Bring water and a snack as there are no food outlets on site.Note: This event will go ahead in light rain and can be adapted for indoors if required. Events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.

Free guided tour - City Botanic Gardens
Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at the City Botanic Gardens. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. The walks are taken at a gentle pace for about one hour. Walking tours for individuals or small groups (no more than ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Location: Meet at the City Botanic Gardens Information Kiosk (next to the Queensland University of Technology’s Main Drive pathway). Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.
