Gathering presents Roby Hourigan. Robyn Hourigan is a proud Bundjalung woman and weaving is a tradition she learned from her cousin. Robyn uses mainly raffia, sourced from palm trees and more traditionally Lomandra grass, creating a range of items like earrings, baskets bookmarks. Join us from 12noon-1pm to weave your own bookmark. This Gathering event is produced by Cre8tive Nations.

Clock Tower Tour

The Clock Tower Tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. Children’s storytime in the park - Wynnum Wading Pool Park, Wynnum
Experience the magic of storytime with your child during a First 5 Forever storytime session in the park at the Pop-up Library. This interactive session includes stories and songs for young children. Ideal for children from birth to five years and their parents or carers. First 5 Forever is an initiative of the Queensland Government, coordinated by State Library of Queensland and delivered in partnership with local government. Location: This session is held in Whale Park, near the Wynnum Jetty (around 137 Wynnum Esplanade). On-street and park parking is available nearby.

Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre. Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.
