Congratulations, Get Rich! is a wild, hilarious rush that revels in the messy joy of being alive.
It’s a big night for Mandy. Her heart and soul—her karaoke business—is failing. In a last-ditch attempt to save it, she’s hosting a mega-event: a reunion dinner special!
Things take an unexpected turn when two women arrive. Mandy instantly recognises one as her mother, who died by suicide over two decades ago. But who is the other woman? What do they want, and why are they here?
Penned and performed by Merlynn Tong (Golden Blood), this explosive musical comedy celebrates the vibrancy of Singaporean culture, centering on three powerful women in a supernatural tale.
Directed by La Boite Artistic Director Courtney Stewart, Tong stars alongside Singapore’s Seong Hui Xuan, and beloved Queenslander Kimie Tsukakoshi (The Poison of Polygamy).
Congratulations, Get Rich! is a fresh Asian-Australian story exploring transformation, legacy, and hope. With humour and heart, it asks if we are all bound to our fate – or whether we can in fact escape the shadows of our past to create our own future

Craig & Karl: Double Vision is a dynamic, playful exploration of one of Queensland's most internationally successful creative exports. Employing Craig & Karl’s signature visual language, defined by bold colour, graphic precision, and infectious joy, the exhibition explores the artists’ three-decade-long creative partnership, their influence on global public art and design trends, and the enduring impact of Griffith University’s Queensland College of Art & Design, where the artists first met almost 30 years ago. Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at the City Botanic Gardens. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. The walks are taken at a gentle pace for about one hour. Walking tours for individuals or small groups (no more than ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Location: Meet at the City Botanic Gardens Information Kiosk (next to the Queensland University of Technology’s Main Drive pathway). Lord Mayor's City Hall Concerts - BRISBANE FESTIVAL - David Bailey Silent Movies
Brisbane City Council proudly presents a special series of Lord Mayor’s City Hall Concerts for Brisbane Festival. Three classic silent films brought to life with pipe organ accompaniment. As one of a rare breed of musicians, David Bailey is continuing what was once an everyday part of Australian cinema — theatre organ performance and silent film accompaniment. Bailey’s interest in the history of Brisbane’s cinemas and their organs has informed his performance style and helped him to bring the world of silent cinema to modern audiences. As a regular accompanist at the Australian Cinémathèque at GOMA, Bailey performs on the historic Wurlitzer pipe organ from Brisbane’s Regent Theatre. This instrument was once heard daily by Brisbane cinemagoers during its life at the Regent Theatre in Queen Street. For Brisbane Festival this year, Bailey will compose and perform live accompaniments for three short comedy silent films on the Brisbane City Hall Willis organ. The massive pipe organ is undoubtedly Brisbane's most historic and recognised musical instrument, with a vast tonal and dynamic range. Bailey will add new life to the classic silent films: Buster Keaton’s The Balloonatic, Charley Chase’s Mighty Like a Moose, and Laurel and Hardy’s Big Business. This silent film event will provide an opportunity to bring the richness of the organ to an audience who perhaps are unfamiliar with it and share in the humour and history of the films and the power and beauty of the Willis organ.
