Clock Tower Tour

For many years, City Hall’s Clock Tower elevated the building to Brisbane’s tallest, offering visitors a magnificent 360 degree view of the city around them. Whilst the view has changed significantly over the last 90 years, the time-honoured tradition of “taking a trip up the tower” happily continues at Museum of Brisbane. The Clock Tower Tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre. Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.

Welcome to the world of She Works Hard For (No) Money — a black comedy that dives headfirst into the chaotic circus of unpaid labour. From “I don’t know where the towels are kept!” to “Just tell me what to do!”, this show uncovers the comedy and tragedy of weaponised incompetence — the art of pretending not to know, so you don’t have to do the boring stuff. And we’re not naming names, but if the shoe fits (and he can find it), maybe that man in your life needs a wake-up call. Written by Samantha Hill, this hilariously infuriating comedy of labours will be transplanted into a real office space for the Anywhere Festival. It’ll be just like being at work: you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and then you’ll stuff yourself with cake… This event is proudly supported by Brisbane City Council. You are invited to explore the fascinating world of collecting, and uncover the memories that objects hold. Inspired by major exhibition Precious in this space you are the curator. You can select, sort and arrange a wide array of items, many of which are second-hand or vintage. Each object holds memories, and now you can create your own.
