Winner of the 2024 Anywhere Festival Award for Music, Anje West returns to make people sigh “Ooooh, this song. I forgot how much I love this song!” And “I’ve never heard of this song”. Leaving her regular band behind, (again!), Anje’s setting up in her lounge, transforming it once more into a parlour of musical reminiscing; her life’s soundtrack playing out with warmth, heart and humour. Volume two’s mix-tape wanders through the nostalgic ’70s, taking a detour into ’80s and ’90s rock and soul. Music from George Harrison, Tears For Fears and Rickie Lee Jones feature, along with soulful delights and other surprises. Vol.1 sold out in a heartbeat. Free guided tour - Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha
Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre. Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.

She Works Hard For (No) Money
Ever wonder how the dishwasher magically loads itself? Or how the farewell card appears at exactly the right time when someone retires? Welcome to the world of She Works Hard For (No) Money — a black comedy that dives headfirst into the chaotic circus of unpaid labour. From “I don’t know where the towels are kept!” to “Just tell me what to do!”, this show uncovers the comedy and tragedy of weaponised incompetence — the art of pretending not to know, so you don’t have to do the boring stuff. And we’re not naming names, but if the shoe fits (and he can find it), maybe that man in your life needs a wake-up call. Written by Samantha Hill, this hilariously infuriating comedy of labours will be transplanted into a real office space for the Anywhere Festival. It’ll be just like being at work: you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and then you’ll stuff yourself with cake… This event is proudly supported by Brisbane City Council. Micro Museum
What will you collect? Welcome to Micro Museum – a space for telling stories through objects. You are invited to explore the fascinating world of collecting, and uncover the memories that objects hold. Inspired by major exhibition Precious in this space you are the curator. You can select, sort and arrange a wide array of items, many of which are second-hand or vintage. Each object holds memories, and now you can create your own.
