Brisbane is Australia's most biodiverse capital city. Native wildlife live all around us - from our backyards to local parks and nature reserves. But have you ever met these unique animals face to face?Join our wildlife expert for an engaging and immersive session in nature, where you'll meet your wild neighbours and some of Brisbane's most iconic animals. Discover what makes them special, how they live, and the vital role they play in our ecosystems.Your actions matter. By learning more about our native species, you'll be empowered to make simple changes - like planting native vegetation or keeping pets indoors at night. These actions help protect our incredible biodiversity and ensure our wildlife neighbours continue to thrive.Requirements on the day:Arrive minimum 10 minutes early to check in with staff at the centre.All children must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult.Wear a hat, sun-safe clothing, fully enclosed shoes, sunscreen, and bring insect repellent as some shows may take place outside.Bring water and a snack if required, as there are no food outlets on site.Note: Events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.
Children's storytime in the park - Frew Park, Milton
Experience the magic of storytime with your child during a First 5 Forever storytime session in the park at the Pop-up Library. This interactive session includes stories and songs for young children. Ideal for children from birth to five years and their parents or carers.First 5 Forever is an initiative of the Queensland Government, coordinated by State Library of Queensland and delivered in partnership with local government.Location: On site parking available off Frew Street. Complete fun challenges and become a naturalist in the making, all in the beautiful setting of a nature reserve.This activity is for the general public. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane's Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors.Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group?
