About This Event
Join other like-minded volunteers to help protect and restore Brisbane’s unique biodiversity through our Habitat Brisbane program. Whatever your skill level and motivation, joining your local Habitat Brisbane group is a great way to connect to nature and be active and healthy, all while meeting new people, developing new skills and making a difference to your local environment. With 160 groups across the city there’s bound to be one near you! Habitat Brisbane volunteers undertake a variety of activities including: managing environmental weeds revegetating with local native plants creating habitat for native wildlife citizen science projects. The Perrin Creek & Seven Hills Bushland Regeneration Group meet very regularly: every Tuesday 7.30-10am every Friday 7.30-10am; and every 2nd Saturday of the month 7.30-10am. Location: Meeting at the shed, 200m in from the Latina Avenue entrance to the Seven Hills Bushland Reserve

Whilst the view has changed significantly over the last 90 years, the time-honoured tradition of “taking a trip up the tower” happily continues at Museum of Brisbane. The Clock Tower Tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. Aqua interval training
A highly effective form of cardiovascular training, which involves brief bursts of high-intensity work followed by a recovery period. This allows you to workout at a higher intensity, with less impact on the body and with the added benefit of resistance that the water provides. Suitable for all fitness levels. Everyone works at their own pace.
Children’s storytime in the park - Frew Park, Milton
Experience the magic of storytime with your child during a First 5 Forever storytime session in the park at the Pop-up Library. This interactive session includes stories and songs for young children. Ideal for children from birth to five years and their parents or carers. First 5 Forever is an initiative of the Queensland Government, coordinated by State Library of Queensland and delivered in partnership with local government. Location: On site parking available off Frew Street. Session is held at playground.

Specifically targeted to suit active older adults and those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle. This is a GOLD event suitable for seniors.

Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre. Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.

Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. The walks are taken at a gentle pace for about one hour. Walking tours for individuals or small groups (no more than ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Craig & Karl: Double Vision is a dynamic, playful exploration of one of Queensland's most internationally successful creative exports. Employing Craig & Karl’s signature visual language, defined by bold colour, graphic precision, and infectious joy, the exhibition explores the artists’ three-decade-long creative partnership, their influence on global public art and design trends, and the enduring impact of Griffith University’s Queensland College of Art & Design, where the artists first met almost 30 years ago. Community Immunisation Clinic - Upper Mount Gravatt
Brisbane City Council provides free vaccinations to eligible residents (aged from 6 weeks and above) through our community immunisation clinics. Immunisation helps protect people against diseases such as measles, whooping cough, polio and tetanus. Take a look at the National Health Medical Research Council vaccination schedule for advice about when you should be vaccinated. Providing a free immunisation service is another way Council is helping deliver our Brisbane Vision.
