Led by conductor Tianyi Lu, this concert opens with two commanding fanfares: Copland's iconic tribute to the common man, and Joan Tower's powerful counterpoint for the uncommon woman.Chausson's Poème follows unfolding in a single arc of introspective beauty, showcasing the expressive talent of Associate Concertmaster Glenn Christensen. From there, we enter the rich world of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake.
