Gathering: Wawumun featuring Bulkaway Muruku
Gathering presents Wawumun (featuring Bulkaway Muruku).Wawumun (Felicity) is a young woman with an old soul, her songs express her love for country, people and culture. A multi instrumentalist with an angelic voice, her stage presence built on humility, grace and Blak strength that transcends language barriers. Wawumun creates deeply emotive songs that can transport you to another time and space. Joining her is the team from Bulkaway Muruku (Yarn Together), a grounded showcase of story, song and interactive experiences centred on the Kuku Yalanji story, Kuyu Kuyu Wanjabu. The artists will share music from their show in anticipation of their upcoming performances at the Brisbane Powerhouse on Sunday 5 July, as part of the Brisbane City Council's NAIDOC Celebrations program. Join us for this special NAIDOC Week performance on Wednesday 1 July from 12noon to 1pm by Wawumun and Bulkaway Muruku.This Gathering event is produced by Cre8tive Nations.

Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre. Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.
