Whilst the view has changed significantly over the last 90 years, the time-honoured tradition of “taking a trip up the tower” happily continues at Museum of Brisbane. The Clock Tower Tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. Have fun at the forest and get active these school holidays and discover new and interesting games from around the world - Egypt, Africa, Finland, Sweden, Germany and Australia. This interactive program is great for your hand eye coordination and loads of fun for all ages in the great outdoors! Requirements: All children must be supervised by an adult throughout. Arrive 10 minutes early to check in and secure your booking. Wear sun-safe clothing, fully enclosed shoes, sunscreen and insect repellent. Bring food and drink and a picnic rug to enjoy a picnic outdoors after the activity, as there are no food outlets on site. Note: activities are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.

Our favourite cheeky dog is blasting off to discover the red planet, Mars. Tycho is in search of water to fly his steam-powered space kennel back home. But how will he find water on Mars, when it looks so cold, dusty and dry? Produced by Melbourne Planetarium at Scienceworks, Museums Victoria. Session concludes with a virtual tour of the Brisbane night sky.

Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at the City Botanic Gardens. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. The walks are taken at a gentle pace for about one hour. Walking tours for individuals or small groups (no more than ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Location: Meet at the City Botanic Gardens Information Kiosk (next to the Queensland University of Technology’s Main Drive pathway).
