Enjoy performances by the Hillbrook String Orchestra, Guitar Ensemble, and String Quartet, featuring a vibrant mix of classical favourites, cinematic themes, and contemporary works. From the stirring drama of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 to the adventurous spirit of Pirates of the Caribbean and the sweeping beauty of The Lord of the Rings, the program also shines a light on the evocative sounds of the guitar ensemble, with atmospheric works like Nebulae and Echoes of Rain Shadows.

Whilst the view has changed significantly over the last 90 years, the time-honoured tradition of “taking a trip up the tower” happily continues at Museum of Brisbane. The Clock Tower Tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. Reading for reconciliation
Improve your knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues and histories. Our group seeks to assist members of the community to start a reconciliation journey through reading and discussing selected texts in an informal and friendly setting. In June, read and discuss Dirrayawadha by Anita Heiss. In July, read and discuss The Queen is Dead, the Time Has Come for a Reckoning by Stan Grant.
Tycho Goes to Mars
Our favourite cheeky dog is blasting off to discover the red planet, Mars. Tycho is in search of water to fly his steam-powered space kennel back home. But how will he find water on Mars, when it looks so cold, dusty and dry? Produced by Melbourne Planetarium at Scienceworks, Museums Victoria. Free guided tour - Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha
Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre. Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.

Opera in the Gardens
Opera in the Gardens features a programme of arias from opera, light opera and musicals. This year's theme is "A Magical Winter Garden Experience" and celebrates songs inspired by love, seasons, passion and the beauty of winter. Come along to enjoy a delightful afternoon listening to exquisite music in the stunning sub-tropical surrounds of the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens. Tour familiar stellar formations, explore new celestial mysteries, and discover the fascinating, unfolding story that connects us all to the stars.
