Step inside an exciting new residency project that invites you to experience art in unexpected ways. Artist in Residence Renee Kire takes over Museum of Brisbane’s entryway, transforming these spaces with a vibrant and dynamic mix of striking vinyl graphics and sculptural timber elements. These features create an immersive pathway that stretches across walls and ceilings, guiding you into the heart of the Museum. Drawing inspiration from Minimalism while reinterpreting the movement through a contemporary feminist lens, Kire brings fresh attention to the often-overlooked contributions of women in the field. Bright, colourful and welcoming for all visitors, the artwork is both joyful and thought-provoking. Responding directly to the architecture of the Museum, City Hall and the Brisbane cityscape, Kire’s design reveals unexpected connections between the built environment and abstract form. Repetition, rhythm and thoughtful details invite you to slow down, look closely and discover new perspectives. MoB’s Artist in Residence program is supported by Tim Fairfax AC. Clock Tower Tour
Discover the hidden secrets of your heritage-listed City Hall building with a guided tour of Brisbane’s iconic Clock Tower. The Clock Tower Tour is a “must do” while in Brisbane! For many years, City Hall’s Clock Tower elevated the building to Brisbane’s tallest, offering visitors a magnificent 360 degree view of the city around them. Whilst the view has changed significantly over the last 90 years, the time-honoured tradition of “taking a trip up the tower” happily continues at Museum of Brisbane. The Clock Tower Tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. Gumtreekids Messy Play - Teddy bears picnic
Our Messy Play sessions are all about hands-on fun and sensory exploration using taste-safe, food-based materials. We create a welcoming space for all ages, with a dedicated baby zone for 6–18 months, a toddler zone for busy little movers, and during school holidays we also welcome over 5s to join in the fun. These sessions encourage curiosity, creativity, and confidence through play — all in a relaxed, family-friendly environment. Sibling rates and under 20 months are discounted. Play passes are available - 10 play sessions for purchase at a low rate.
Aqua aerobics
Experience an excellent, low-impact cross-training workout in the water. Feel the benefits of exercise without the pain. Using minimum impact movements, participants will develop strength, mobility and movement in a fun environment. This class will be held in the indoor heated pool.

Lord Mayor's City Hall Concerts presents Paradiso Strings - British Legends. Let our program of British Rock and Pop Legends take you on a journey through the fantastic landscape of British music of the last 60 years. We celebrate iconic tracks by The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Queen, Phil Collins, Radiohead and Arctic Monkeys, right through to current artists such as Ed Sheeran and Adele. Paradiso Strings perform on classical instruments, bringing you the music as you've never heard it before, while fully capturing the power and emotion of these much-loved works. Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre. Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.

Narrated by Robert Redford, Cosmic Collisions launches visitors on an awe-inspiring trip through space and time - well beyond the calm face of the night sky - to explore the hypersonic impacts that drive the continuing evolution of the universe. Session concludes with a virtual tour of the Brisbane night sky. Cosmic Collisions was developed by the American Museum of Natural History, New York in collaboration with the Denver Museum of Nature & Science; GOTO INC, Tokyo, Japan; and the Shanghai Science & Technology Museum. Cosmic Collisions was created by the American Museum of Natural History with the major support and partnership of NASA, Science Mission Directorate, Heliophysics Division.
