The Ukrainian Festival Brisbane 2026 marks a significant milestone, celebrating 35 years of Ukrainian independence. Hosted by the Ukrainian Community of Queensland Inc, a not-for-profit and ACNC-registered charity, this year's festival is more meaningful than ever, highlighting the resilience, spirit and cultural richness of Ukraine.Visitors can enjoy a full day of immersive experiences, including live music and performances, traditional Ukrainian dance, authentic Ukrainian food and desserts, cultural displays, artisan market stalls and a range of family-friendly activities for all ages. Whether you have Ukrainian heritage or simply enjoy discovering new cultures, the festival offers a welcoming space for the broader community to come together in celebration. Convict Brisbane Walking Tour
Explore Brisbane's colonial history on this guided tour through the city's convict past.Beginning at the historic Windmill on Wickham Terrace and winding down to the river at Queens Wharf, the tour traces Brisbane's transformation between 1823 and 1842 - from a remote penal outpost to an emerging free town. Hear stories of convicts and commandants, revealing how punishment, labour and authority shaped daily life. Along the way, our guides bring the settlement into focus, illuminating the social fabric and living conditions, as well as the central role of the Brisbane River in sustaining the colony.Woven throughout the tour are First Peoples' responses to British settlement, their enduring connection to Country, and the Frontier wars that directly followed this era. Together, these intersecting stories offer a deeper understanding of how Brisbane grew from its earliest foundations into a regional centre.Tour highlights include: The Windmill, The Brisbane Crest, The Petrie Tableau, Convict-built structures and surviving remnants, Miller Park and the Commissariat Stores, Queens Wharf and, the Brisbane River.This 90‑minute, 1.75km tour is designed to suit most fitness levels, however, please note it includes walking downhill along city streets and across uneven surfaces. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane's Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors.Walking tours for individuals or small groups (no more than ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Deep water aqua
This is an aquatic workout that uses all major muscle groups. Participants wear a buoyancy belt so there is no need to worry about being in deep water, however basic swimming skills are required. You must bring your own buoyancy belt for this class.

Get your passport for a thrilling journey through the Solar System, out of the Milky Way Galaxy and to the edge of the observable universe, returning home via a black hole. Narrated by Tom Hanks.Session concludes with a virtual tour of the Brisbane night sky.Passport to the Universe was developed by the American Museum of Natural History, New York in collaboration with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Bands in Parks performs at Pegg's Park.Come along to this great day out for the whole family with lots of free activities including music, face painting, rides, animal farm, fauna show and more.Food and drinks will be available. BYO chairs and blankets and enjoy music by the Brisbane Regional Jazz Ensemble BRJE.Band plays 12-1pm.
