Clock Tower Tour
Discover the hidden secrets of your heritage-listed City Hall building with a guided tour of Brisbane’s iconic Clock Tower. The Clock Tower Tour is a “must do” while in Brisbane! For many years, City Hall’s Clock Tower elevated the building to Brisbane’s tallest, offering visitors a magnificent 360 degree view of the city around them. Whilst the view has changed significantly over the last 90 years, the time-honoured tradition of “taking a trip up the tower” happily continues at Museum of Brisbane. The Clock Tower Tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. Aqua interval training
A highly effective form of cardiovascular training, which involves brief bursts of high-intensity work followed by a recovery period. This allows you to workout at a higher intensity, with less impact on the body and with the added benefit of resistance that the water provides. Suitable for all fitness levels. Everyone works at their own pace.
Billy Buddies ball sports
Bookings essential. This program is designed for kids aged 2-7 and serves as the home of Non-Contact Rugby League for children. At Billy Buddies, they celebrate all sports not just Rugby League! Their programs focus on fun, helping kids build social skills while learning the fundamentals of Rugby League and ball sports in general.
Children’s storytime in the park - Dorrington Park, Ashgrove
Experience the magic of storytime with your child during a First 5 Forever storytime session in the park at the Pop-up Library. This interactive session includes stories and songs for young children. Ideal for children from birth to five years and their parents or carers. Morning Masterworks 2: Rachmaninov & Shostakovich
Start your Friday with a touch of classical brilliance with this Morning Masterworks concert. Two deeply personal Russian masterworks, worlds apart yet intimately connected. Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.2 is an enduring testament to lyrical beauty and heartfelt longing. In sharp contrast, Shostakovich’s Fifth Symphony is an intense declaration of survival, composed under Stalin’s oppressive gaze. Though triumphant on its surface, this symphony vibrates with hidden irony and emotional tension that moved its first audience to tears. Chief Conductor Umberto Clerici leads Queensland Symphony Orchestra in this powerful program, joined by exceptional pianist Konstantin Shamray, whose command and sensitivity make him the ideal interpreter of Rachmaninov’s masterpiece (2nd movement only). Experience an evening filled with intensity, emotion, and extraordinary music. Queensland Symphony Orchestra is proudly supported by Brisbane City Council.
