Bands in Parks performs at Brisbane City Hall Step into the grandeur of Brisbane City Hall as the Amadeus Orchestra presents an unforgettable afternoon of classical brilliance with the music of beloved composers including Bizet, Rossini, Sarasate, and Gilbert & Sullivan. From fiery opera overtures to elegant dances and sparkling operettas, this concert promises a richness, colour and celebration. Whether you’re a lifelong classical music lover or simply seeking an inspiring musical experience, let the Amadeus Orchestra transport you with the drama, wit and beauty of these enduring masterworks. There will be afternoon tea and scones available for purchase as well as wine and cheese packs. Make it an afternoon out – invite family and friends for an afternoon at City Hall. The concert is free but if you would like to sit and sip with a glass of wine and cheese plate, or enjoy afternoon tea and cake, then it’s just $10 per person. From courtly dances to spirited jigs and haunting laments, this concert explores the rich tapestry of sound that spans continents and centuries. Whether you’re a classical connoisseur or a lover of folk music, String Resonance promises to stir the soul and celebrate the universal language of strings.
Free guided tour - Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha
Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre. Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.

Join other like-minded volunteers to help protect and restore Brisbane’s unique biodiversity through our Habitat Brisbane program. Whatever your skill level and motivation, joining your local Habitat Brisbane group is a great way to connect to nature and be active and healthy, all while meeting new people, developing new skills and making a difference to your local environment. With 160 groups across the city there’s bound to be one near you! Habitat Brisbane volunteers undertake a variety of activities including: managing environmental weeds revegetating with local native plants creating habitat for native wildlife citizen science projects. The Yeronga Bushcare Group meet on the second Sunday of the month: autumn/winter months - 3-5pm spring/summer months - 3-30-5.30pm. Venue: Ron Goeldner Park (access via 20 Heritage Close), Yeronga.
