Bands in Parks performs at Brisbane City Hall. Step into the rich acoustic grandeur of Brisbane City Hall for Of Stories Told - with the Brisbane Municipal Concert Band conducted by David Jones. With over a century of musical heritage, this historic ensemble invites you on a journey through vivid soundscapes and timeless tales. From the fiery fiddling of The Devil Went Down to Georgia to the sweeping romance of Italian Holiday, and the nostalgic charm of Montmartre, each piece conjures a different world of imagination and emotion. Blending light classics with dramatic storytelling, this concert promises an evocative afternoon of music that stirs the heart and sparks the imagination. There will be afternoon tea and scones available for purchase as well as wine and cheese packs. Make it an afternoon out - invite family and friends for an afternoon at City Hall. The concert is free but if you would like to sit and sip with a glass of wine and cheese plate, or enjoy afternoon tea and cake, then it’s just $10 per person. Remembrance Day Tours
Enjoy a free guided tour of Anzac Square Memorial Galleries for Remembrance Day 2025. We will be offering special 45-minute tours in November exploring stories of Queensland war heroes that exemplify the Anzac spirit and underpin this important day. We've searched through State Library's extensive military collection to bring you some of our favourite stories of courage, resilience, and sacrifice from the home front and battlefields, as we guide you on an interactive journey from the First World War to today. Book now to secure your place on this limited tour. Tours will depart at 10:30am and 12:30pm each Sunday for the month of November. Additional sessions will be available at 12:30pm and 1:30pm on Tuesday 11 November for Remembrance Day. Some of the moving stories you'll hear on this tour include: Hugh Andrew Geraldton Campbell, who joined the 11th Field Company Engineers when he enlisted in late 1915. Engineers, such as Hugh, were the backbone of the AIF during World War I, responsible for building and maintaining critical infrastructure like trenches, railways and roads, which were essential for troop movement and maintaining supply lines. Gladys Moncrieff OBE, a beloved Queensland soprano awarded the Order of British Empire for her wartime contributions. She performed for Australian troops in New Guinea during World War II and Japan and Korea in 1951, as well as working tirelessly to raise money for the war effort and wounded service personnel. A selection of her songs will be playing in the World War II Gallery for visitors to enjoy. Peter John Hegarty, one of 250 First Nations Australians who served during the Vietnam conflict. Born in Cherbourg he served in the Army for six years, nine months of which he spent with the Royal Australian Engineers in Vietnam.

Children will love this tour of the Solar System through the eyes of a family of aliens on vacation from another star system. Session concludes with a virtual tour of the Brisbane night sky. This show contains some flashing light sequences.

Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre. Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.

Edmund, Mia’s eccentric uncle, tricks the girl into using the tool’s secret powers to change the world’s seasons. She realizes the consequences of what they are going to do, but Edmund doesn’t want to let the plan go... Session concludes with a virtual tour of the Brisbane night sky.
Bahala/o by Buddy Malbasias
An introspective and playful exploration of identity; rooted in Filipino tradition, living the queer immigrant experience - halata. Embodying the Filipino philosophy, ‘Bahala Na’, Bahala/o is a 1hr duet performance of dance, theatre and everything in between to explore cultural hybridity, duality and the fluidity of identity. Two distinct performers, one pedestal fan and a whole lot of questions, all set in a dream-like rice world. From independent Filipino-Australian artist, Buddy Malbasias, Bahala/o transcends traditional performance, weaving deeply personal narratives and broader cultural reflections. This evocative new work invites audiences to explore the dualities of existence, illuminating the complexities of living between worlds while embodying the enduring spirit of Bahala Na. This dazzling space show launches visitors through space and time to experience the life and death of the stars in our night sky, including our own nurturing Sun. Tour familiar stellar formations, explore new celestial mysteries, and discover the fascinating, unfolding story that connects us all to the stars. Those who come along for the journey may never see the night sky in the same way again. Narrated by Whoopi Goldberg. Session concludes with a virtual tour of the Brisbane night sky.
