About This Event
The Lord Mayor and Brisbane City Council will again host the traditional Flag Day ceremony in King George Square in front of Brisbane City Hall, with a flag raising by members of the Australian Defence Force.Our flag was first flown on September 3, 1901 following the world's first ever flag design competition.For more information, visit the Australian National Flag Association website.

Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane's Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors.Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size.Walk timesDaily departures at 11am and 1pm, Monday to Saturday.Walks last about one hour and are taken at a gentle pace.Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre.Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.

Come along and join our relaxed community group where singers and ukulele players come together for fun. We enjoy songs from the 1960s-70s. The group is hosted by Grace, a local Paddington volunteer who loves sharing her passion for music and singing. Bookings essential. Focus on aerobic fitness, strengthening with light weights, flexibility, coordination and balance followed by relaxation with gentle exercises. The session is performed either seated on a chair or standing while holding onto a chair for stability and support. No floor work.This is a GOLD event suitable for seniors.
