About This Event
Sherwood Arboretum, established in 1925, is Brisbane’s only botanic garden dedicated exclusively to growing Australian native trees. The Arboretum holds scientific and cultural values with many of the original plantings undertaken by prominent citizens of Brisbane.
The guided walk will be led by the volunteer guides of Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha and the Friends of Sherwood Arboretum. Requirements: Wear a hat, enclosed walking shoes, and be sure to bring a water bottle and sunscreen. Meeting point: Meet at the shelter adjacent to the main carpark off Jolimont Street, Sherwood. Age: Open to all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.

Clock Tower Tour

Deep water running
This is an aquatic workout that uses all major muscle groups. Participants wear a buoyancy belt so there's no need to worry about being in deep water however you do require basic swimming skills. Classes will be held in the outdoor 50m pool. You must bring your own bouyancy belt for this class.
Special walk: Fascination of plants
Join a group of volunteer guides on a fascinating walk through the gardens. Each will share some favourite anecdotes and information about plants in a series of interesting talks. Prepare to be fascinated, amazed and enlightened! Requirements: This walk includes moderate physical activity, including walking slightly longer distances, up gentle slopes and stairs or walking on some uneven surfaces. Some standing periods for guide explanations but no sitting. Please wear a hat, enclosed walking shoes, and be sure to bring a water bottle and sunscreen. Meeting point: Meet at the Visitor Information Centre. Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.
