Convict Brisbane Walking Tour
Explore Brisbane's colonial history on this guided tour through the city's convict past.Beginning at the historic Windmill on Wickham Terrace and winding down to the river at Queens Wharf, the tour traces Brisbane's transformation between 1823 and 1842 - from a remote penal outpost to an emerging free town. Hear stories of convicts and commandants, revealing how punishment, labour and authority shaped daily life. Along the way, our guides bring the settlement into focus, illuminating the social fabric and living conditions, as well as the central role of the Brisbane River in sustaining the colony.Woven throughout the tour are First Peoples' responses to British settlement, their enduring connection to Country, and the Frontier wars that directly followed this era. Together, these intersecting stories offer a deeper understanding of how Brisbane grew from its earliest foundations into a regional centre.Tour highlights include: The Windmill, The Brisbane Crest, The Petrie Tableau, Convict-built structures and surviving remnants, Miller Park and the Commissariat Stores, Queens Wharf and, the Brisbane River.This 90‑minute, 1.75km tour is designed to suit most fitness levels, however, please note it includes walking downhill along city streets and across uneven surfaces. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane's Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors.Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size.Walk timesDaily departures at 11am and 1pm, Monday to Saturday.Walks last about one hour and are taken at a gentle pace.Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre.Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.

Get On Up: Youth Breaking Battles 2026
Get On Up Youth Battle returns this school holiday season, bringing together the next generation of breakers for a day of community, learning, and friendly competition.Breaking crews, dance studios, schools, and young dancers are invited to take part in an exciting event celebrating youth culture, creativity, and movement. The program includes a special guest workshop at 11:30am, with the guest artist to be announced soon, followed by Youth Breaking Battles from 1pm.This is an opportunity for young dancers to represent their crew, build new connections, develop their skills, and showcase their passion for breaking in a supportive and energetic environment.Location: EC Venue, 17 McLachlan Street, Fortitude ValleyGet On Up: Youth Breaking Battle is proudly sponsored by Brisbane City Council.
Deep water aqua
This is an aquatic workout that uses all major muscle groups. Participants wear a buoyancy belt so there is no need to worry about being in deep water, however basic swimming skills are required. You must bring your own buoyancy belt for this class.

Silent aqua
Bookings essential. Enjoy a low‑impact water‑based cross‑training session delivered without music. The class uses basic Auslan, is easy to follow, and suitable for all abilities. Everyone is welcome.
