Lord Mayor’s City Hall Concerts presents Strings do Strauss.
Johann Strauss II would turn 200 years old this year, and Angel Strings are here to celebrate it with you.
Known as the ‘King of the Waltz’ for developing the structure, rhythmic subtlety and expressive powers of the previously simple and repetitive dance piece, Strauss contributed an abundance of works to the genre.
Angel Strings quartet are thrilled to share some of these with you, including The Beautiful Blue Danube, The Emperor Waltz and Pizzicato Polka, plus the glorious overture from his operetta Die Fledermaus.
