Lord Mayor's City Hall Concerts presents Play It Again, Sam: A Human Journey. Step into a world of cinematic emotion as two captivating Brisbane voices bring the silver screen to life in Play It Again, Sam: A Human Journey. Inspired by the iconic line from Casablanca, this uplifting concert celebrates the unforgettable melodies that have shaped generations of movie lovers. Celebrated classical soprano Rebecca Cassidy and acclaimed music-theatre mezzo-soprano Louise Dorsman, joined by pianist Mark Connors, traverse love, heartbreak, hope, laughter and triumph through timeless film songs. From the sweeping romance of The Godfather and the nostalgia of Casablanca to the haunting beauty of The Mission, Gladiator and The Shawshank Redemption, every number tells a story of the heart. Audiences will be moved by soaring classics including As Time Goes By, Don’t Rain on My Parade, Over the Rainbow, Nella Fantasia, and Now We Are Free, alongside playful favourites from Mary Poppins and Top Hat. Come along to Brisbane City Hall for an hour of nostalgia, beauty and cinematic magic - a journey through the moments, memories and melodies that make us human. For many years, City Hall’s Clock Tower elevated the building to Brisbane’s tallest, offering visitors a magnificent 360 degree view of the city around them. Whilst the view has changed significantly over the last 90 years, the time-honoured tradition of “taking a trip up the tower” happily continues at Museum of Brisbane. The Clock Tower Tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. The walks are taken at a gentle pace for about one hour. Walking tours for individuals or small groups (no more than ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Location: Meet at the City Botanic Gardens Information Kiosk (next to the Queensland University of Technology’s Main Drive pathway). Aqua aerobics
Experience an excellent, low-impact cross-training workout in the water. Feel the benefits of exercise without the pain. Using minimum impact movements, participants will develop strength, mobility and movement in a fun environment. This class will be held in the indoor heated pool.
