About This Event
Lord Mayor's City Hall Concerts presents British and American Band Masterworks.
Come one and come all as the Queensland Conservatorium Wind Orchestra presents a program featuring the most celebrated and admired works of the wind band repertoire.
From the British pageantry and tradition of Holst and Vaughan Williams to the exuberance of American circus music, military marches and Broadway medleys, this concert will uplift the spirits and have you tapping your toes, snapping your fingers and whistling along.
Join conductor Peter Morris and the students of the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University in the beautiful Brisbane City hall as we Strike up the Band!

For many years, City Hall’s Clock Tower elevated the building to Brisbane’s tallest, offering visitors a magnificent 360 degree view of the city around them. Whilst the view has changed significantly over the last 90 years, the time-honoured tradition of “taking a trip up the tower” happily continues at Museum of Brisbane. The Clock Tower Tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors.
