Boondall Wetlands Environment Centre

About This Event

Go wild about native Aussie plants these school holidays! Discover fascinating facts about some of our native plants, track down clues on a useful plants scavenger hunt challenge, get creative and experiment with plants, fibres, and other natural materials, and taste some commercial 'bush foods' made from native plant ingredients. Along the way you’ll learn why native plants are crucial for healthy habitats and how growing native plants can help us improve biodiversity in our bushlands, backyards, and balconies. Requirements: Arrive 10 minutes early to check in with staff at the centre. All children must be directly supervised by an adult booked into the activity. All participants please wear a hat, sun-safe clothing, fully enclosed shoes (no thongs or open shoes please), sunscreen, and insect repellent. Long sleeves and long pants recommended. Please bring water and a snack if required as there are no food outlets on site.Note: This event will go ahead in light rain and may be adapted for indoors if required. Events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.
